Not Really, JaS just needs to save up for 2 processors, and do the same swap. trav1085
It's still fast anyways. I don't really understand dual-core though, is a 2.66GHz Dual Core processor actually 5 or something GHz as it's two processors in one? Or is that the actual speed. As if Apple thinks 2.6GHz is fast I have a low-end Dell that has 2.8GHz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33274-eight-core-mac-pro/#findComment-237857 Share on other sites
rollcage
multiple cores have different affects on speed depending on what you're doing. if you're performing two different tasks (like playing music and encoding a movie), then dual core will be way faster than a single. if you're just playing a game, it depends on whether it has been coded to take advantage of multiple cores. a single, faster core might be better than two cores that aren't quite as fast. and the clock speed for multiple cores is given in the speed for each core, so you actually have two 2.6 in that case. they would be way faster than the 2.8.
