well!!! why you share with us the file, we have the same 9225??? i think!!! 0x83847661

Hey Taruga, I'm on a Sigmatel STAC9228 Codec.

No combination I tried would work. I had one run from "Headphones and Speakers" only, and that gave me two headphones pors. One did nothing, the other accesses both my speakers and my audio-out socket the way the standard one did. The HDA I use normally, and the codec dump is the one posted several time in this thread for the 9228.

The file he has was created with v1.10 (which was not released yet) and inputs are not working yet

I can send it to you when I get home, or maybe the user I gave it to test can send it to you too

Ok, I think I really have to change things a lot, to organize dumps, codec priorities, etc... it´s getting confused, lots of requests , different codecs, etc

I will check it soon

wat is the status of alc880? is 5.1 working??

ok thanx.......Are u sure this is the good codec.txt for 9225? hummmmmmmmmm i think i will wait for 1.10

we are having the same notebook :(

For best results everyone should use it´s own codec dump. There are some differences from different vendor implementations of the codec and my patcher can produce different results...

Taruga,

Can you please help me out. I don't have my sound working yet but the audio chip is sort of identified by OS X

To remind you, my card is a Sigmatel 7634 audio chipset.

I installed 10.4.8 and tried the HDA patcher. After rebooting and going to System Prefs->Sound I see a device under Output but none under Input. In output, the device is listed as Internal Speakers as the name and DevShortNameSpkr as the port. When I try to play audio from a web page I don't hear anything. I tried to make sure the sound is turned up but I cant increase the volume. Under Settings for the selected device it says "The selected device has no output controls"

Any idea what could be wrong ?

Just so you know (Because someone mentioned this a few pages back), the Sigmatel 7634 codec does work in Linux. There's a problem where after loading the snd-hda-intel module you get errors in dmesg but the module is loaded. The problem is that there is just no output no matter what you do (like unmuting the mixer and raising the volume etc..).

I discovered a fix that works very well. When loading the module you must do 'modprobe snd-hda-intel probe_mask=1' after which the sound works perfectly.

Do you have any suggestions on what I can do ? I have been soundless for a few weeks now.

thanks a lot,

JD

I have to check it out ... but my patcher has nothing to do with linux, I only use the dump created by alsa driver to check for nodes , pinconfigs, device, vendor id´s , etc It´s like an A.I. program to do stuff for each situation.
