Just tried to download the ALC862 test file, but got an error saying that it's not available. I have sound from the speakers, but no headphones nor mic and just wanted to try this out . This is with a Toshiba Satellite A135 laptop.

There are a lot of pages in this thread and I tried my best to find something out, but there's just too much. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, I'm running Leopard 9A581 from the BrazilMac install disc.

I am trying to get this Audio Driver to work.

I am running ALC 882 on a Asus S96J Laptop.

So far I have gotten the Targua ALCInject.kext, AppleHDA.kext and HDAController.kext loaded

I have run the Taruga HDAPatcher with the Audio Codec#0 dump i got from live cd ubuntu linux so my AppleHDA.kext should be edited correctly, right?

I have not made any changes to the ALCInject.kext

What do I have to edit and where in the ALCinject.kext Info.plist to get the ALCInject to work with my edited AppleHDA.kext

Can someone look over the files i uploaded and look for my mistake(s)?

AppleHDA was only edited with The HDAPatcher and my original Codec dump.

ALCinject.kext has not been edited at all yet, because i dont know what to do with it.

ALCinject.kext.zip

AppleHDA.kext_2.zip

codec.txt

Just tried 1.16, nothing happened when I dragged my codec dump, system is not crashed, sound is still mute

My Leopard crashed by unknown reason, then I re-installed it, tried 1.16 again, it works!!!

Output is build-in speaker, Input is unknown, but there's sound anyway.

Hi

i have asus a6000 series laptop installed realtek alc880

i copied the kexts in beta4some861_880models.zip

now in sound options everything is seems working.

i get sound from the built-in speakers and even my built in microphone gives response to sound

but when i try to plug my 2.1 speakers or headphones to output, i get no sound.

what should i do?

I have asus w6f with HDA 861. I try use patcher 1.16 ioreg.1.16.txt(with my codec) and beta4some861_880models.zip.ioreg.beta.txt Nothing.

In Attach -

codec codec1.txt

and out from lspci pci.dump.txt.

No working solution yet -- I have the same setup as you and have been lurking for months

macgirl, does that mean you have audio coming out your speakers now or still just headphone jack?

Still Headphones only

I think it needs a special "bypass" with software to get sound on the speakers from what I read on some ALSA forums.

I'm have motherboard DQ965GF with STAC9227 (Vendor Id: 0x83847618) and try ext from new stac9227_83847618.zip but inputs not working.

Help me. Me need mic. -_-

P.S. OS X 10.4.10

P.S.S.

Codec: SigmaTel STAC9227

Address: 2

Vendor Id: 0x83847618

Subsystem Id: 0x80862008

Thanks. Crappy part is, now I have no sound at all. I shut down the laptop and I heard my messenger log out during the process, then when I turned it back on when I got to class I had no sound devices listed. Whenvever I bump the volume wheel on the front a the on-screen volume thing pops up, but it has a "no" symbol on it. I still have sound in Vista though.
