Hi I have osx 10.4.8 (10.4.7 with 10.4.8 jass update) installed on an athlon 64 3000+ and gigabyte k8u motherboard (uli chipset). It works fine but disk speed is terribly slow. I am considering getting a cheap nforce 3 (socket 754) motherboard and swapping it. Can i just swap it out or is it recommended to do a fresh install. By the way following is motherboard i am thinking of getting. Anyone used this board, and has gotten both sound and network working.

Thanks in advance

i have changed alot of mobos with and without reinstalling, as elviejo says osx isnt tied to your hardware, its not like the sucking windows, the worst that can happen is not recognizing your kext hackes because the new hardware is diferent so is going back to hacking them again.

really mas sabe el viejo por viejo que por sabio :)
