Hi,

I recently tried to install Sierra on a spare HDD with GPT and got it to work on my X58a-UD3R v2.0 rig.
Used Clover in "Legacy" mode, installed into the EFI partition.

Then I decided to install on my Crucial M4 SSD* and followed the exact same steps, but this time It won't boot: the boot process hangs just when the progress bar appears.

Please see attachment for verbose mode.

If I use the Clover installed into HDD's EFI partition and select the Sierra installed on SSD, it boots... So I'm thinking about a new incompatibility between Clover and Crucial M4 SSD...

Let me summarize:

Clover from USB installer > Sierra installation on SSD > boot ok
Clover from HDD > Sierra installation on SSD > boot ok
Clover from SSD > Sierra installation on SSD > boot hangs when loading bar appears.

Thanks in advance.

* This drive has been running Mavericks and Yosemite (both with Clover) without any problem.

Try copying everything from your EFI partition on your old drive to the EFI partition on the new SSD drive. I doubt there's a hardware incompatibility. If it booted with a particular configuration before it that same configuration should with the SSD.
