kosakgroove
Hi friends of this great community, I Come here to ask if I can change the name of some devices in my Hackintosh I want to Apple-ify it a bit more I would like to change the name of the HDD connected via AHCI SATA and also the CD/DVD drive and finally the battery. I can't believe that Mac OS X likes dealing with an AsusTek battery... Here goes the ioreg as it might be of some help. Kosak’s MacBook Pro.zip How could I achieve this? Also, what would be common Apple Hardware names for Battery, HDD and DVD?
Micky1979
Personally I like that my battery report all the real infos. Also did not like to watch in System Profiler too often... in truth I do not look almost never, paid only attention to real problems
kosakgroove
No distro man. This is pure vanilla installation. I only sport a couple kexts in EFI partition, system partition unmodified. I just think maybe there would be a way through DSDT edits or through some other kind of workaround to change the name of some devices.
Slice
Battery information comes from DSDT. And there is an SMC key "ACID". See example of real MacBook ACID [ch8*] (bytes ba b3 f0 c5 c0 03 10 d3) It is AC adapter serial number.
