  1. Hello people, I'm having trouble enabling the battery status. I already installed Kext ACPIBatteryManager and tried to apply a ready-made RehabMan patch for Dell models, the patch compiles without errors but does not correct the problem. The percentage is stuck at 99% and the icon is as if it were charging, Can someone help me? My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 14 Series, model i14-5458
  2. Hi friends, Recently I had been looking for ways to control the battery charging on my hackintosh which is a Thinkpad T460 with dual batteries. On Windows there's a program Lenovo Vantage that lets you set the Battery Charging Start and Stop Thresholds. These thresholds continue to apply even when the laptop is turned off as these thresholds are managed by the embedded controller, so from that perspective its a set once and forget. But there was one more thing that was frustrating me. By default Lenovo uses the external battery first and once its almost drained (less than 5%), it switches to the internal battery. Although the Charging Start and Stop Limits are a good way to increase the life span of Lithium batteries (by lowering the max charge limit), the complete drainage of the external battery prior to switching to internal is not a good idea. Fortunately Lenovo EC provide options to force drain (use) a battery (even with the ac adapter connected) thereby allowing to manually switch to the internal one, however these are manual controls. In Linux, there's a program tpacpi-bat that runs as a daemon and performs an efficient management of the dual batteries such as switching to internal battery when the external one reaches a configurable lower limit. However, this is Linux only and uses the ACPI interface. I did some research to understand my options in macOS. I found RehabMan's ACPIDebug.kext and its ability (using another RehabMan's tool ioio) to call a function defined in the DSDT. With information collected tpacpi-bat and ACPIDebug.kext, I have created a dirty version. So this is how you use it... 1. Use the attached SSDT-RMDT. As this was just a rough work to validate my understanding, I just did a hard coding for the first battery. 2. Install ACPIDebug.kext 3. After the reboot, you can trigger the following battery operations... a. Set Battery Charge Start Threshold ioio -s org_rehabman_ACPIDebug dbg1 <start-percent> a. Set Battery Charge Stop Threshold ioio -s org_rehabman_ACPIDebug dbg2 <stop-percent> a. Force Discharge ioio -s org_rehabman_ACPIDebug dbg3 <0|1> //0 to disable, 1 to enable a. Inhibit battery charging for specified number of minutes ioio -s org_rehabman_ACPIDebug dbg4 <minutes> //0 to disable a. View Battery Info ioio -s org_rehabman_ACPIDebug dbg5 <anything> //pass anything, its ignored a. View Battery Charge Start/Stop Thresholds ioio -s org_rehabman_ACPIDebug dbg0 <anything> //pass anything, its ignored You can see the output using the Log Viewer Console (filter on ACPIDebug). You'd see something like this... default 19:34:35.175265 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: "View Thresholds" default 19:34:35.176349 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Charge Start Threshold=", 0x28, } default 19:34:35.176489 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Charge Stop Threshold=", 0x3c, } default 21:07:36.023627 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: "Battery Info" default 21:07:36.032040 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Conversion (mW[h] -> mA[h]) Required?=", 0x0, } default 21:07:36.032323 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Design Voltage=", 0x2a30, } default 21:07:36.032519 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Design Capacity=", 0xdb60, } default 21:07:36.032772 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Last Full Capacity=", 0x6a9a, } default 21:07:36.033783 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Remaining Capacity=", 0x2e7c, } default 21:07:36.033968 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Remaining Percent=", 0x2b, } default 21:11:19.319090 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Charge Stop Threshold=", 0x5a, } default 21:11:30.722450 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Charge Start Threshold=", 0x50, } default 23:34:39.071335 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: "Force Discharge=Enabled" default 23:34:59.427494 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: "Force Discharge=Disabled" default 23:35:08.475281 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: { "Inhibit Charge Enabled (in Minutes)=", 0xf, } default 23:35:12.971671 -0800 kernel ACPIDebug: "Inhibit Charge=Disabled" At this time, I just hard-coded for the BAT0 to quickly validate my understanding and its working well. What's next? As I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong), I can't return values with ACPIDebug.kext along with ioio, plus this is also all very hacky. To be able to create a program that reads the current remaining capacity (percent) and switches control to internal batter, I need a way to return this info. Currently I'm just outputting it to the logs. My thinking is to modify ACPIDebug.kext or one of these other kexts (ACPISensors.kext) to add code for above and then create a program to optimally manage the operation of my two batteries. However, I'm very new to all of this and will take some time. In the meanwhile, here is it for your playing pleasures. Please be aware that my SSDT-RMDT is currently hard-coded for BAT0 and doesn't have all the validations. Credits to RehabMan, tpacpi-bat, and other resources on internet. Thanks all. SSDT-RMDT.dsl
  3. Hi I have recently a hackintosh in my Acer Aspire 5741g laptop and I have to solve some things that do not work as "ethernet" lan connection, hdmi video that does not work when I connect the laptop to the tv and battery percentage that always 0% and not the charge. Can someone please help me!?!
Grazie anticipatamente
  5. I have done everything related to this problem but without any results, can anyone help ?

In the rehabman guide there is a patch for ASUS in this case, there is a patch method FBST. There is no such method in my DSDT. Can someone help? Here's a patched and clean DSDT: https://vk.com/doc183234383_509697931

    Apple-ify devices?

Hi friends of this great community, I Come here to ask if I can change the name of some devices in my Hackintosh I want to Apple-ify it a bit more I would like to change the name of the HDD connected via AHCI SATA and also the CD/DVD drive and finally the battery. I can't believe that Mac OS X likes dealing with an AsusTek battery... Here goes the ioreg as it might be of some help. Kosak’s MacBook Pro.zip How could I achieve this? Also, what would be common Apple Hardware names for Battery, HDD and DVD?
  8. Hi to all This is my first time to attempt a DSDT patch but even if I read some guides using MaciASL I still don't know how to proceed. Before using Yosemite, I used VoodooBattery on Mavericks, but this solution is not working anymore. So I'm asking for some help in order to get battery management status. Also, for webcam (HP Truevision HD) that never worked even on Mavericks. Any help will be appreciated Thanks a lot
  9. I have Acer Aspire E5-572G [having Core i5-4210M and NVIDIA Geforce 940M 2GB ] and installed Sierra 10.12.2. I have got intelgraphics , brightness ,audio (ALC 283) and wifi (atheros ar956x) working by following guides on this site. But, Trackpad is not working, only keyboard is working after I have installed VoodooPS2Controller.kext . (I think trackpad is synaptics as I install synaptics driver on windows. ) webcam is not working too ( when I open FaceTime , it shows no camera found) I have installed Nvidia web drivers but I think card is not being detected. Battery is draining very fast. Plz guide me how to resolve above issues and what else do I need to do (applying patches or other tweaks etc) to get a fully working Mac. Thanks.

    ACPI Battery Help

Hey all! I could use some help here, I have an Acer Aspire 7741z with a seemingly unique battery. I attempted some of Rehabman's patches and his ACPIBatteryManager.kext but nothing has worked. If anyone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Attached is my DSDT. Please and thank you! dsdt.aml.zip
  11. I just updated my Dell Latitude E6400 (with NVIDIA Quadro graphics) to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 However, the built-in trackpad and keyboard do not work when I boot up from Chameleon (I used the latest Chameleon wizard)!! The keyboard and trackpad only work when I boot up from the XBooter CD (which was the only way for me to successfully install Snow Leopard). The battery indicator only shows up when I boot from XBooter, but does not appear when I boot up from Chameleon. The Appstore only works when I boot up from Chameleon. WiFi, Bluetooth, and the SDHC card slot do not work for both Chameleon and XBooter. I have already installed all kexts and dsdt for my model. The keyboard and trackpad stop working after an extended period of use when I boot from the XBooter CD. Also, in what position is the switch for the radio antenna to be on? To sum it up: Works for XBooter: Keyboard/Trackpad (Limited functionality) Battery Indicator (I used the Voodoo kext) Sound Doesn't work for XBooter: Appstore Works for Chameleon: Appstore Sound Doesn't work for Chameleon: Keyboard Trackpad Battery Indicator Doesn't work for both Chameleon and XBooter Wifi Bluetooth Mute Please provide feedback so I can get my Hackintosh up and running. If anyone can provide feedback on how to upgrade to Lion, that would be great. I have already tried xMove, but the installation gets stuck at the Apple logo when I boot up from the installation partition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  12. I executed all my DSDT's and SSDTs with no errors I can't patch the battery I need help I am attaching my ACPI folder ACPI.zip

  14. I've been reading guides and trying to get help on patching my DSDT. I know basic DSDT patching, and know how to do all the patches I need except for battery patching. I really don't know if this is the place to get help (I hope so ), but I have attached my unedited disassembled DSDT of anybody is interested in helping me out here. DSDT.zip

    [Problem] Lenovo x121e Battery

Hello, I've got installed El Capitan on my Lenovo x121e. It's working, but not perfectly. I have the following problems: - there is no battery status available EDIT: now working thanks to artur_pt - there are some artifacts from the Intel HD 3000 EDIT: fixed with slide=0 TODO - the trackpad buttons aren't working (show no reaction in El Capitan) - HDMI audio, VGA output and normal audio aren't working - after sleep mouse touchpad not working Is there a way to get at least the battery status working? The other things aren't really important (but nice to have). System Information: -Intel Core i3-2357M @ 1.3GHz -8 GB DDR3 RAM -Intel HD Graphics 3000 -120GB SSD I've also added the unchanged DSDT to this post. Maybe anyone can help me. Thanks Jonas System DSDT.aml.zip

  17. Hello, I checked and tried the rehabman patch battery_asus-n55sl on my x301a laptop but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone look at the DSDT and check what needs to be modified? It's a partially modified DSDT (hd4000) and some other patches https://www.dropbox.com/s/jxh2ing9yv690y3/DSDT.aml?dl=0

    ACPIBatteryManager - HP pavilion g4

I am using ACPIBatteryManager with Yosemite right now. But my battery life is only about 1-hour (I usually get 2.5 hours on Windows, 2 hours on Linux) [GUIDE] How to patch DSDT for working battery status My DSDT was extracted from Windows. It is totally messy. In EmbededControl field does I did something wrong or this is a normal for a hackintosh pc to have a short battery life(because Yosemite are using XCPM instead of AppleIntelCPUpowermanagement so I can't get totally control of my CPU by using ssdt) EDITING System DSDT.zip
  19. Hi, I'm running Yosemite on my acer Aspire 1810tz cpu : intel core 2 Duo , SU 4100 ram: 2 GB gpu: Intel gm-45 When I try to check "show battery percentage" from "battery" preferences, it has been unchecked automatically. However I'm still using my stock battery. Could you suggest me any kext to install? Thanks
  20. I need Battery percentage/status in my Hackintosh. RehabMan's method is too complicated for me.. Tried SmartBattery.. & VoodooBattery kexts, didn't work.. Any solution??
  21. I have an HP Elitebook 8460P running OSx 10.13.4 High Sierra I have an odd issue i believe is related to DSDT patch for ACPI Power battery. My battery icon works the battery level goes up/down and battery goes black when charging/white when not. BUT... Always has a lightning bolt in it and says "Power Source: Power Adapter" no matter if its connected or not. How can i get it to recognize my adapter is unplugged?
  22. Hello everyone, I have an Asus gl502vmk (i7 kabylake + GTX 1060 6 gb) laptop and I tried all the patches/kexts to get the brightness with fn keys/touchpad (I2C ELAN 1200 works with VooDoo I2C kext v1.0 but no gestures/preference pane)/Keyboard backlight to work but no success so far, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. [EDIT] (10/04/2018) Battery status now works, thanks to @RehabMan turned out to be incorrect SMBIOS (used iMac instead of Mbp) lol, but it drains crazy fast (~1.5 - 2 hours while on standby (all apps quited!), on windows 10 it lasts 4 - 5 hours, and on linux it lasts 6 ~ 7 hours!) And with VoodooI2C v2.0.1 + VoodooI2CHID kext and patched DSDT, the touchpad is now detected in the sys pref pane but still no input. Sound works with VoodooHDA v2.9.1, but the only issue is that the jack sense isn't working (the output device doesn't auto switch to headphone when connected) [EDIT 2] (11/04/2018) The system brightness now works thanks to @onejay09 but I have no brightness slider, and there are 4 extra brightness levels (brightness stops increasing after 12 levels) and the brightness keys are not mapped correctly, plus the brightness decreases when I plug in the ac adapter, then increases if I unplug it???, the brightness level isn't also saved after reboot. battery still drains crazy fast (~1.5 - 2 hours, even with brightness at 50%, so apparently it is a power management issue). and I also have shutdowns while in sleep mode (I tried darkwake=10 and darkwake-0 and darkwake=no) P.S. I have uploaded my new report files, thanks! Latest report files (11/04/2018): https://www95.zippyshare.com/v/AMOpP0AY/file.html
  23. I had a dualboot (Windows 8.1 & Yosemite) everything is working very good, except the audio, wifi, and more importently is that the it consume the battery very fast (its like it reducing 1% in every 30 seconds), so is there any fix to this please? 24. After migrating from sierra to high sierra battery status stopped working simply always appears as connected to the current when it is not updated kext for the last one that exists in RehabMan but without success, I am using dsdt and ssdt that in the sierra works well, now I do not know if anything has changed in this version and that is why I ask for your help.
