    ACPI Battery Help

Hey all! I could use some help here, I have an Acer Aspire 7741z with a seemingly unique battery. I attempted some of Rehabman's patches and his ACPIBatteryManager.kext but nothing has worked. If anyone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Attached is my DSDT. Please and thank you! dsdt.aml.zip
  2. I have an HP Elitebook 8460P running OSx 10.13.4 High Sierra I have an odd issue i believe is related to DSDT patch for ACPI Power battery. My battery icon works the battery level goes up/down and battery goes black when charging/white when not. BUT... Always has a lightning bolt in it and says "Power Source: Power Adapter" no matter if its connected or not. How can i get it to recognize my adapter is unplugged?
  3. Last october my old battery pack on on my HP DV7-7002el exploded... really. Also some damage to the Nothebook chassis. In truth, I really waited too long with this old-exausted battery and pratically always connected to the charger. Maybe I should be more careful. Replaced the chassis with an original part, but to save money I had to do everything myself because HP asked more than 300 euro (over $350 ).. Well, I do a good job, it was also fun to do and offcourse, I also bought a new more powerful battery. Not an original part, but a new 9000mAh powerfull-increased battery for 30 Euros. Lately I had not much time dedicate on my Hackintosh due to my study (these days I'll take the Diploma ) + my job after school, but yesterday I take the time to redone from scratch my patched ACPI tables: DSDT SSDT-1 SSDT-6 (+ undervolt step using Clover) For the DSDT I never had a big problem adding/patching needed stuff, but I always found essential the battery patch by Rehabman here: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch needed to display the battery information using its ACPI battery kext here: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Battery-Driver This time, after the battery replacement only one issue because (apparently?) the battery never reach the 100% of charge, but stop at 80% max (at least this is displayed). Not a big problem anyway because I think this is due to the new battery kind. But what I found really intresting, are the new patches on how to turn off the discrete graphic (NVIDIA Optimus) under OSX by Rehabman. Used the new iasl61 to decompile all my table adding missing external references as suggested and found only some garbage in SSDT-6 easily fixed (I had to comment out the MXMX method BTW needed by Windows only). Applied all the patches (edited to comply with other modifications previously made to my DSDT (GFX0 to iGPU, PEGP to GFX0)), and BAM: all working at first reboot, and my NVIDIA is gone! Surprisingly, my Lappy today reached almost 6 hours of battery life with one charge! (I mean using it)...also it is now really cold (never cold like this using windows as far I remembar)! Not least, now the notebook is very quiet because the fan has to do less work Ok, the battery is an increased version, but I found this awesome, also considering that my i5 is not voted to the energy saving like newer ones (also have better geekbench )! Please share your battery life! cheers
  4. Hello everyone, I have an Asus gl502vmk (i7 kabylake + GTX 1060 6 gb) laptop and I tried all the patches/kexts to get the brightness with fn keys/touchpad (I2C ELAN 1200 works with VooDoo I2C kext v1.0 but no gestures/preference pane)/Keyboard backlight to work but no success so far, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. [EDIT] (10/04/2018) Battery status now works, thanks to @RehabMan turned out to be incorrect SMBIOS (used iMac instead of Mbp) lol, but it drains crazy fast (~1.5 - 2 hours while on standby (all apps quited!), on windows 10 it lasts 4 - 5 hours, and on linux it lasts 6 ~ 7 hours!) And with VoodooI2C v2.0.1 + VoodooI2CHID kext and patched DSDT, the touchpad is now detected in the sys pref pane but still no input. Sound works with VoodooHDA v2.9.1, but the only issue is that the jack sense isn't working (the output device doesn't auto switch to headphone when connected) [EDIT 2] (11/04/2018) The system brightness now works thanks to @onejay09 but I have no brightness slider, and there are 4 extra brightness levels (brightness stops increasing after 12 levels) and the brightness keys are not mapped correctly, plus the brightness decreases when I plug in the ac adapter, then increases if I unplug it???, the brightness level isn't also saved after reboot. battery still drains crazy fast (~1.5 - 2 hours, even with brightness at 50%, so apparently it is a power management issue). and I also have shutdowns while in sleep mode (I tried darkwake=10 and darkwake-0 and darkwake=no) P.S. I have uploaded my new report files, thanks! Latest report files (11/04/2018): https://www95.zippyshare.com/v/AMOpP0AY/file.html
  5. Hi everybody, I need help for patching my DSDT. I have a Asus f541uv-xx147t laptop and I have installed macOS Sierra successfully but I need to know the battery percentage and I want to control the brightness. What I have to post in attached file for help? files.zip
  6. I have Acer Aspire E5-572G [having Core i5-4210M and NVIDIA Geforce 940M 2GB ] and installed Sierra 10.12.2. I have got intelgraphics , brightness ,audio (ALC 283) and wifi (atheros ar956x) working by following guides on this site. But, Trackpad is not working, only keyboard is working after I have installed VoodooPS2Controller.kext . (I think trackpad is synaptics as I install synaptics driver on windows. ) webcam is not working too ( when I open FaceTime , it shows no camera found) I have installed Nvidia web drivers but I think card is not being detected. Battery is draining very fast. Plz guide me how to resolve above issues and what else do I need to do (applying patches or other tweaks etc) to get a fully working Mac. Thanks.
  7. Hi to all This is my first time to attempt a DSDT patch but even if I read some guides using MaciASL I still don't know how to proceed. Before using Yosemite, I used VoodooBattery on Mavericks, but this solution is not working anymore. So I'm asking for some help in order to get battery management status. Also, for webcam (HP Truevision HD) that never worked even on Mavericks. Any help will be appreciated Thanks a lot

    Apple-ify devices?

Hi friends of this great community, I Come here to ask if I can change the name of some devices in my Hackintosh I want to Apple-ify it a bit more I would like to change the name of the HDD connected via AHCI SATA and also the CD/DVD drive and finally the battery. I can't believe that Mac OS X likes dealing with an AsusTek battery... Here goes the ioreg as it might be of some help. Kosak’s MacBook Pro.zip How could I achieve this? Also, what would be common Apple Hardware names for Battery, HDD and DVD?
  9. I just updated my Dell Latitude E6400 (with NVIDIA Quadro graphics) to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 However, the built-in trackpad and keyboard do not work when I boot up from Chameleon (I used the latest Chameleon wizard)!! The keyboard and trackpad only work when I boot up from the XBooter CD (which was the only way for me to successfully install Snow Leopard). The battery indicator only shows up when I boot from XBooter, but does not appear when I boot up from Chameleon. The Appstore only works when I boot up from Chameleon. WiFi, Bluetooth, and the SDHC card slot do not work for both Chameleon and XBooter. I have already installed all kexts and dsdt for my model. The keyboard and trackpad stop working after an extended period of use when I boot from the XBooter CD. Also, in what position is the switch for the radio antenna to be on? To sum it up: Works for XBooter: Keyboard/Trackpad (Limited functionality) Battery Indicator (I used the Voodoo kext) Sound Doesn't work for XBooter: Appstore Works for Chameleon: Appstore Sound Doesn't work for Chameleon: Keyboard Trackpad Battery Indicator Doesn't work for both Chameleon and XBooter Wifi Bluetooth Mute Please provide feedback so I can get my Hackintosh up and running. If anyone can provide feedback on how to upgrade to Lion, that would be great. I have already tried xMove, but the installation gets stuck at the Apple logo when I boot up from the installation partition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    [Problem] Lenovo x121e Battery

Hello, I've got installed El Capitan on my Lenovo x121e. It's working, but not perfectly. I have the following problems: - there is no battery status available EDIT: now working thanks to artur_pt - there are some artifacts from the Intel HD 3000 EDIT: fixed with slide=0 TODO - the trackpad buttons aren't working (show no reaction in El Capitan) - HDMI audio, VGA output and normal audio aren't working - after sleep mouse touchpad not working Is there a way to get at least the battery status working? The other things aren't really important (but nice to have). System Information: -Intel Core i3-2357M @ 1.3GHz -8 GB DDR3 RAM -Intel HD Graphics 3000 -120GB SSD I've also added the unchanged DSDT to this post. Maybe anyone can help me. Thanks Jonas System DSDT.aml.zip

  12. I've been reading guides and trying to get help on patching my DSDT. I know basic DSDT patching, and know how to do all the patches I need except for battery patching. I really don't know if this is the place to get help (I hope so ), but I have attached my unedited disassembled DSDT of anybody is interested in helping me out here. DSDT.zip
  13. After migrating from sierra to high sierra battery status stopped working simply always appears as connected to the current when it is not updated kext for the last one that exists in RehabMan but without success, I am using dsdt and ssdt that in the sierra works well, now I do not know if anything has changed in this version and that is why I ask for your help. 14. I had a dualboot (Windows 8.1 & Yosemite) everything is working very good, except the audio, wifi, and more importently is that the it consume the battery very fast (its like it reducing 1% in every 30 seconds), so is there any fix to this please? I have also attached my dsdt. ACPIBatteryManager - HP pavilion g4

I am using ACPIBatteryManager with Yosemite right now. But my battery life is only about 1-hour (I usually get 2.5 hours on Windows, 2 hours on Linux) [GUIDE] How to patch DSDT for working battery status My DSDT was extracted from Windows. It is totally messy. In EmbededControl field does I did something wrong or this is a normal for a hackintosh pc to have a short battery life(because Yosemite are using XCPM instead of AppleIntelCPUpowermanagement so I can't get totally control of my CPU by using ssdt) EDITING System DSDT.zip
  17. Hello, I checked and tried the rehabman patch battery_asus-n55sl on my x301a laptop but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone look at the DSDT and check what needs to be modified? It's a partially modified DSDT (hd4000) and some other patches https://www.dropbox.com/s/jxh2ing9yv690y3/DSDT.aml?dl=0
  18. Hi, I'm running Yosemite on my acer Aspire 1810tz cpu : intel core 2 Duo , SU 4100 ram: 2 GB gpu: Intel gm-45 When I try to check "show battery percentage" from "battery" preferences, it has been unchecked automatically. However I'm still using my stock battery. Could you suggest me any kext to install? Thanks
  19. Hi guys, my laptop Hackintosh works great (1st in signature). Has even more battery life than Windows in the same computer. I’ve successfully achieved native iGPU and CPU power management, so that helps a lot. My NVIDIA card is disabled as this is an Optimus enabled laptop. That also helped achieve a lot more battery. Last but not least I am using a little kext from this forum called DisableTurboBoostBattery which cuts down the processor SpeedSteping capability when it is on battery power only, effectively reducing the processor throttling, as well as the power consumption, thus giving me more battery life. I also have CoconutID installed, so I can check the battery life span, cycles, and the current capacity, comparing with the original. A little problem with the program is that the battery temperature sensor reports -273,1ºC, which is a bit cold hahah Any way to get those sensors to work? Apart from the normal measures like disabling WiFi and BT, and reducing brightness, what other tips do you sages of this forum recommend to increase my lovely Hackintosh’s battery life? I am open to trying any suggestion given! Thanks in advance!
  20. Hey friends, yesterday install the mavericks to my Laptop Vit M2421, which has the following specifications: Software: YOU X 10.9 (13A603) Ram: 2 GB 1334 MHz DDR3 Graphical: Intel HD Graphics 3000 288 MB Procesador:2,29 GHz Intel Core i3 Wifi: Broadcom 4311 The installation was the majority perfectly, I surprise since previously i installed Mountain Lion and I was going away to the blows and not tape-worm neither sound nor microphone, this time i I install everything corectly, achieve that the wifi was working placing tape to the pin 20 of my card, and well, my problems are 3: 1. It does not recognize me the battery, says to me exactly this " there is no available battery ", install all the sensors that there was giving myself my distro and the logo of the battery, nevertheless it loads without problems but to avoid mistreatments to the battery I do not use her. 2. My machine goes out suddenly, that is in the habit of extinguishing of is absent a driver or something this way, but not, simply I use skype or sail in mozilla and it goes out alone. 3. I do not manage to install by any means a bootloader on the hard disk, am booteando of the usb who prepares to install my distro, i would like to use chameleon ,because i dont like Clover, try installing Chimera, chameleon wizard and none I do it work. I am totally raw in hackintosh, but not in computer science, move well for the experience that I have in this SO, nevertheless I do not manage to understand that it are neither the DSDT or anything for the style, expect help me prompt possible mas to solve my problems, thank you very much in advance, a greeting. BTW:sorry if you found some grammar error, my english is good, but i used a translator to save time.
  21. Laptop battery monitoring Using this driver you have to exclude other battery drivers: ACPIBatteryManager, AppleSmartBattery and so on. This driver assumes to using HWSensors3 with FakeSMC 3.5 as being part of it. 19.01.2018 Updated version of VoodooBatterySMC will get extended battery information and so it will be more exact. Battery kexts

So hiii Okay so I recently updated from ML to Mavericks using the app store because I boot with a clover usb so it works that way BUT the problem is that my battery kexts no longer work. I can still sleep completely fine but I can't see how much power i have left anymore, only got the 'no battery available'. I really need this because my battery runs out pretty quickly because of rubbish battery a la sony vaio so I want to know if anyone has any battery kexts that work with Mavericks? Thanks! (:
  23. Hello, I'm working on getting Mountain Lion running on my HP6730b laptop. This is my first Hackintosh (and my first post as well) and before anything else I'd like to say thank you for all the help and tips I found on here and other communities. My knowledge on this is very limited but you make it ever so much easier to try and learn. I've got most things running; my graphics card with native resolution (no QE/CI though), Ethernet and WiFi, sound, and most other things. What I haven't been able to get operational (yet), though, is my microphone, battery, and sleep. My USB ports worked fine and out of the box, until I tried putting my laptop to sleep "to see what would happen". Ever since, my USB ports (except the one with the receiver for my mouse) stopped working. They work fine whilst booting, as I can use it to boot from USB, but when OSX has launched they're practically 'dead'. I've read on some sites and forums that some people recommend to delete the applehpet.kext from my extentions folder. This works; my USB devices work again. But after a couple to five minutes after boot I get a Kernel Panic. So I re-installed the kext. The panics stopped, but so did the functionality of my USB ports. One time I had to boot in to safe mode for something, and I noticed that in Safe Boot my battery is recognised. When I rebooted to normal mode, suddenly my battery was still recognised. I tried to plug an USB drive to my laptop, and to my surprise it connected. When I rebooted later on, it did not recognise my battery anymore and my USB ports stopped working again. I tried rebooting to safe mode, and whilst in that mode it still recognises my battery, but when I boot back to normal mode it does not do that anymore. To see which kexts are active (and are recognising my battery) in Safe Boot, in comparison to which kexts are interfering with exactly that, I've made a kextstat while in Safe Boot and one in normal mode, and compared the two. This is the result: I've tried deleting the following kexts from my Extensions folder, as they are not active in Safe Boot and could only hinder the proper functioning of my battery and USB ports: VoodooBattery.kext AppleSMBusController.kext AppleACPIPlatform.kext Unfortunately all in vain. Although my system seems to work fine without these kexts, my problem persists. I was hoping someone could help tracking the kext(s) that are preventing my USB ports and battery from operating correctly. Also, any tips to get sleep and my microphone working are welcome, of course. Once I've got everything working properly I'll make a summary of kexts and settings I used so that hopefully it'll help someone with the same make laptop as mine. Thanks in advance! Peace
  24. I installed voodoobattery.kext and appleACPIPlatform.kext repaired permissions and rebuilt caches and all that. The problem is every time I go to energy saver and check "Show battery status in menu bar" it quickly unchecks itself. I read about resetting nvram, but that's not possible on a hackintosh. Help would be greatly appreciated.
  25. So, my sleep is working 99% perfectly I left it the whole night on sleep mode with 100% battery . Woke up to see it only spent 5% battery in 8 hours ioreg + console.zip I am using the patch to re enable NVIDIA on sleep and shutdown on my DSDT, it made sleep work much faster and in a more reliable way, as well as it fixed shutdown and restart. I wonder if there is a way to improve the time it takes to sleep, I am using hibernatemode 0 but it still takes quite a long time for it to sleep.. Thanks
