kosakgroove
Hi guys, my laptop Hackintosh works great (1st in signature). Has even more battery life than Windows in the same computer. I’ve successfully achieved native iGPU and CPU power management, so that helps a lot. My NVIDIA card is disabled as this is an Optimus enabled laptop. That also helped achieve a lot more battery. Last but not least I am using a little kext from this forum called DisableTurboBoostBattery which cuts down the processor SpeedSteping capability when it is on battery power only, effectively reducing the processor throttling, as well as the power consumption, thus giving me more battery life. I also have CoconutID installed, so I can check the battery life span, cycles, and the current capacity, comparing with the original. A little problem with the program is that the battery temperature sensor reports -273,1ºC, which is a bit cold hahah Any way to get those sensors to work? Apart from the normal measures like disabling WiFi and BT, and reducing brightness, what other tips do you sages of this forum recommend to increase my lovely Hackintosh’s battery life? I am open to trying any suggestion given! Thanks in advance! kosakgroove
I am planning on changing to SSD. Its still too expensive for me though. Is the difference that much when you have an SSD? JahStories
the motor itself, it's almost always spinning and it drains a lot more battery than a SSD, and it's a lot slower, I strongly suggest to switch to solid state!
