Got it to work. The hidden EFI partition was empty on the boot stick. I don't know why.

Now the stick is booting, drivers are loading (intel e1000, nvme (Sm951)...) Then the bluetooth controller gets detected. After that the graphics get garbled. I am using a EVGA GTX 980TI card.

Next message is "still waiting for root device". Will I have to use the integrated Intel 530 HD Graphics, then install the Web-Installer from NVidia for the GTX980 for get this working?

What's the problem with "waiting for root device"?

(Asus Z-170-Deluxe, i7-6700k, Evga GTX 980TI SC ACX2.0, Samsung 950 Pro/M2 512MB, HDD 4 TB)

Success! Got it working. No more waiting for root device and the circle with the crossed line is gone. GUI second stage is loaded.

But I don't have USB support. So no keyboard and mouse is working. I am using 2 USB connectors at the top of my case. Mouse and keyboard is connected to USB 2.0.

On the board backside I only have USB 3.0 connectors. Do I need an additional driver? What can I do get USB working? Any special boot parameter?
