Phil511
I would appreciate if someone can help me how to boot back into El Capitan Public Beta 5 after I successfully updated it from Public Beta. I rebooted it back successfully after the update. While installing patched AppleHDA for Realtek 889, my computer froze. No circulating beach ball, I can move the arrow but it did not function in short El Capitan Public Beta 5 crushed. I was to forced to conduct hard re-start and unable to boot back into Public Beta 5 since. I used Chris1111 Clover EL Capitan installer in a legacy install onto my old desktop. MB: Asus P6X58D-E Video Card: EVGA GTX 460 Memory: DDR3 1600 6 GB ( 3 x 2GB) CPU: i7 960 Onboard Audio: Realtek ALC889 Below are 2 screen shots: Frist screen shot was where it stuck and after 20 minutes the second screen shots show more messages. falanx
Did you disable SIP in clover config? (Allowing to load unsigned kexts.) Seems to me your kexts aren't loaded. Had the same issue and screen when booting. Add this to your config.plist: <key>RtVariables</key> <dict><key>CsrActiveConfig</key><string>0x67</string><key>BooterConfig</key><string>0x28</string></dict> or edit your config.plist with the latest Clover Configurator. (if you use an older version to edit your plist for something else and save it, it will remove it if you manually added this to your config.) I did not disable SIP in Clover config as I am new to Clover. I will try and let you know how it fan out. I am using the latest Clover configurator but will double check to make sure that I am using the latest one. Try to boot without caches so it is not trying to load any kernel cache. Kext-dev-mode and rootless are now obsolete, you have to enable loading unsigned kext by disabling SIP. Update Clover to last version (3261 now, last official installer 3259, both work great). You don't need to move the kexts into L/E or S/L/E anymore. Since now kext injection from EFI works. Move your kexts back into Clover/kext/10.11. They're ok there. Believe me. I don't seem to need to disable SIP anymore....but you can leave it disabled at least until you get back your computer. The problem is the Nvidia driver. Also, boot into single-user mode, and remove your kernelcache using this command: sudo rm -r -v /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/* After that, do this: sudo reboot now And update and activate your video driver! Last Nvidia video driver here. Also, if you cannot boot in normal mode, try booting in single user mode. Might help. And once you are all booted up, update your video driver! howoarang
Using Clover Configurator (newest version 4.24.0) select these options: - in section "Boot" you need to check "dart=0" - in section "Rt Variables" fill these values: "0x28" in BooterConfig and "0x67" in CsrActiveConfig (of course without quotes!) Btw: You don't need check anymore other boots options like kex-dev-mode=1, rootless=0. Verbose (-v) is optional Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/307699-unable-to-boot-into-beta-5-after-successfully-updated-it/#findComment-2163119 Share on other sites
