Hello

My name is Ofir and I'm almost thinking going to Apple Store and buy me a new iMac ....after 20 cups of coffee and without a lot of sleep I'm still sitting near my computer and breaking my head what am I doing wrong with this installation and I am hope that here I will be able to get the help I need to complete all the process.

So what I have in my basket :

1. Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-H87M-HD3

2. Memory: 2 x8gb sticks from corsair DDR3 1600

3. Processor : Intel Core i5 4590 Haswell

4. Case : XIGMATEK MACH

5. PS : XIGMATEK 500W 80 PLUS

6. HDD : WD 1TB SATA 3 + WD 500GB SATA 3

7. SSD : 2x128Gb

I was trying first using the manual here :

http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/143976-#####-install-os-x-yosemite-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

No Mather what bios setting I changed I always got after the boot screen a "Snow" on my screen like in the photo :

After playing with my input source in my monitor and back to the HDMI I got into the setup page.

Most of the times my setup got stuck in the middle and I only success 1 time and I was able to get into the setup an account after first boot but my machine got stuck in the "setting up your mac" screen Aldo I had my mouse pointer moving , nothing happened.

After a reset button I was able to get into the login screen (Aldo I got the "snow" screen again) and my next step was to use the "#####" tool to install all the needed drivers . The strange thing is that without the "#####" I had a great resolution and Ethernet connection and after using the recommended settings I found and a reboot - I've lost my network connection and nothing helped.

So I decided to start from the beginning all over again and now I can't even rich the setup page and get all the time a Karnel Panic no Mather what boot flags I'm using.

Hooo sorry about that , didn't know . But I'm sure I came to the right place to find some answers . I want to use other tools that can help me.

Thanks and sorry again

I will try from the begging with this manual :

If I will have more problems I will post here.

Hi,

I have somewhat similar hardware and I had problems with sleep. In the end, I had to cange one RAM stick, even though it passed any test I could do with it. I found out it was the RAM because in windows I also had some ramdom sleep problems (not as often as in OSX).

I would also suggest you use clover. I found it had better hardware detection/support, at least in my case.

I have the same board as you have and I use Clover for UEFI booting. Please see my example and learn how to use & edit Clover's config.plist from http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Home and searching for Piker-Alpha’ ssdtPRGen.sh for your CPU.

P.S. Don't connect HDMI port for each OS X 10.10.x update. If you connect HDMI, it will restart.
