micha2411
Hey guys, first of all I want to wish everyone a happy new year. I got a problem with installing OS X onto my Computer. The installation stucks every time. Hardware Specs: GigaByte X79-UD3 X79 RG SA Intel Core i7-4930k 3400 2011 XFX 4GB D5 X R9 290 Core Edition R DDR3 16 GB 1600 128 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD I am using the bootflags -v -x npci=0x3000 USBBusFix=Yes Additionaly I have added the GenericUSBXHC 432 kext to the stick. A picture of the problem is attached. Thanks for your help in advance. ///// EDIT: Hi guys, its me again. I fixed this issue by adding cpus=1 / npci=0x2000 instead of 0x3000 to the bootflags. Now the installer is stuck at another point. I added a picture. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/303696-yosemite-installer-stuck/ Share on other sites

micha2411
Hi and Welcome to InsanelyMac forum! Read here: 12) Q: I get this message "Still waiting for root device" when booting, what are the solutions? Hi Allan, thanks for your help. I have set the sata mode to AHCI before trying to install OS X. That can't be the issue. My hard drives are both connected via SATA, not via IDE. I don't have a DVD / BD drive. So points 2-3 can't be aswell. Anything else to do there? micha2411
Is a video problem. You can try follow this steps: How to delete kexts for enable video. Your link says "and has 2 graphics video (E.g: Intel + AMD // Intel + Nvidia/Geforce) and if you have trouble for loading the OS X do this:" which means it is for a problem related with having 2 graphic units, but I dont have 2 graphics units. The i7 4930k has no integrated graphics unit, tho I have no onboard graphics solution. I am still stuck at this point :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/303696-yosemite-installer-stuck/#findComment-2099908 Share on other sites
Allan
You can try: -f -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=0 Change for No if don't work, and in PCIRoot, change for 1 if this value don't work. micha2411
Go to this one http://www.rampagedev.com/?page_id=2 He got many of X79 system. Hi knonlinee, thanks for ur help. I managed to install OS X Yosemite with the Clover guide from rampage dev. I am able to boot the system via USB, but I dont have access to internet then and graphicscard is not recognized. So I installed the kexts from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298443-r9-290-non-x-yosemited-help/ and IntelE1000E Internet kext. Now I am not able to boot, the system will just restart itself, either via normal UEFI as with the install stick. It would be great if someone could help, I cant find a solution...
