gils83
HandBrake uses all available threads, for the rest it's your OS that will share the CPU available for the operation of the rest of the applications.
kvonlinee
To gils83, That mean even the I7-5820k run handbrake, cpu usega will be like 99% but the conversion time is much shorter compare to a i5 haswell on then same media file image iso? Gringo Vermelho
I don't understand. Is it possible that you are asking if a faster CPU will encode a video faster? If that's what you're asking, the answer is obvious.
kvonlinee
I am asking that a faster cpu, can it proccess handbrake in a lower cpu usage than regular cpu(99%), handbrake job is covert iso to mp4 file.

If you are doing h.264 into that .mp4 it uses all the threads/cores if you go with either of the mpeg options it uses about half, at least that has been my experience with it confirmed by a quick test encode to mpeg-4 (FFmpeg) option I did just now.

No it does not mess the system up when doing it, I have gone hours sometimes days at a time encoding to h.264 the machine is always quick and responsive.
