eisboleas
Hello, im planning to buy the Intel Pentium g3258 Anniversary edition.I read online that intel haswell pentiums are not working with Mavericks.I also read this solution: The solution is quite simple ... use Clover, in "Binary patch" --> "FakeCPUID" put 0x0106E0 that's i5 id. In this way Mavericks and Yosemite installer start fine. Is this true and a working solution???I dont care about iGPU, i have seperate CPU. I only want the processor to work. Also if its possible i need to know how ill install clover to boot from dvd with this boot options. Thanks in advance. kvonlinee
You should get i3 haswell, for a long run it is better, support by kernel.

I dont want an i3 as it is more expensive for about 40 euros and its locked. i can OC this pentium to 4.3GHz easily witch will beat the i3 easily. I just need to know if this solution will work or if there a good kernel for Mavericks or any other solution.
kvonlinee
If you want pentium, you can go with ivy-bridge 1155 socket.

kvonlinee
With haswell pentium, you may found a patch kernl to run osx on it. The problem is when update verion for example 10.10 to 10.10.1 or so, and the patch kernel is not available, the update will break the osx.
