1. Hi everyone! Long time no see guys! As you can see I am not new user of Insanely and do not want to post in incorrect section, but I can not find any similiar topic at all. I,ve searched the forum and the web and I can't find a solution. My question is that is there any possibility to install Mavericks 10.9.5 on external drive on the newest Macbook Pro 13 from 2018? I know that the Intel Coffee Lake is new generation of CPU's and there is no drivers in Mavericks system to run this CPU, but I was thinking about it alot and I decided to write here. Because if we can install all the newest OSX, macOS on older machines then maybe we can install older systems on newer builds? P.S. If I wrote in incorrect topic then please move this thread to the right section, I will be grateful
2. Hi, I've been trying to install Mavericks 10.9, I know it's older now, but It's honestly the version I want to use, the specs of the PC are: Asus P8H61-MX USB3 i3-3220 8GB DDR3 Memory GTX 750 ti 500GB HDD I've been following this guide: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-including-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners-updated-for-yosemite/ But, after booting, this is the error screen I get, any guidance on what Kexts, SMBios settings, etc. I need? I can tell I'm probably missing something here. Thanks, Dan
3. I have a few Windows dual boot woes/questions. I previously installed OS X 10.6/10.7/10.8. They worked beautifully, and my system is fully supported. But the problem I've always had has been on the Windows end. Any time I get an update for OS X (minor, e.g. from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2), my Windows installation would spontaneously stop booting. I would have to manually use an install disk to set the active/boot partition back to the Windows one, and then run a boot repair from the install disk (bootrec /fixmbr, bootrec /fixboot), then boot into OS X and re-install the bootloader. I'm now attempting a 10.9/Win8 dual boot. So, would this problem still happen? What would be the suggested solution? Any answers/time you may give me is appreciated, even if you just take time to read the question. I should also mention that this time around, 10.9 is on a different HDD entirely. Yes, I have 2 HDDs.

Upgrade a Mavericks

5. I was having a tough time getting mavericks installed on my old AMD system - so, I purchased a new system... ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Intel 4930k Sapphire Toxic R9 280x 32Gb RAM 512Gb EVO Pro SSD ... I thought I was pretty careful while choosing the components to get ones for an easy vanilla install... However - my install fails after a few seconds resulting in a blank/black screen - and, keyboard locked up... I am using: -v -f cpus=1 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=yes npci=0x2000 ... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... ... [sOLVED] Seems the vanilla kernel (from the 10.9.1 Install DMG) was not cooperating... I used the mach_kernel included in the DSDT package for my MB from the Rampage Dev site... ...
6. Greetings, I am doing a "vanilla" installation using the excellent instructions in this installation guide, and have run into a problem: First, the hardware list: Motherboard: Asus P5K-V, latest BIOS (version 1002) CPU: Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93 GHz RAM: 8 GB Graphics: PNY GeForce 9800 GT GDDR3 1GB This computer has been running Snow Leopard stably for quite a while, so I know there are no fundamental problems with the hardware. When I boot from my prepared USB drive, it boots the operating system to the point where the graphics mode is engaged, and then I am left with a white screen initially with a mouse pointer arrow, and then with the "spinning beachball". Since it takes quite a while to reach this point, I have left the system in this state for a long time to see if it ever recovers, and so far it hasn't. I know that the CPU hasn't crashed completely because the "beachball" continues to spin, I can move the mouse pointer, and the system even blanks the screen if I let it sit long enough, turning it back on when I hit a key on the keyboard. I have used a variety of boot arguments: -v (I would never boot without this one!) GraphicsEnabler=Yes (graphics come up, but then something else seems to hang), -x (safe mode simply takes longer with the mouse pointer arrow before the spinning ball appears), but nothing seems to give a different result. Any suggestions? What else might I try? Is there any way to have the system provide additional debug information? Thanks in advance to all.
7. Hello there! I've chronicled my mostly successful attempts to install Mavericks 10.9.3 onto my Sony Vaio VPCF115FM at TonyMacX86. I'm here today to ask about solutions to the two most common problems with successfully converting Vaio VPCF115FM into a Hackintosh. First and foremost, I know of the existence of the massive VPCF115FM thread and the original VPCF115FM 10.6.3 thread already here. The first one is 39 pages and both seem to apply only to Snow Leopard. Using the instructions at TonyMacX86 but slightly tweaked with the Mavericks MBR patch 10.9.3 offered here, I was able to get Mavericks installed once I connected my TV to the HDMI port and passed GraphicsEnabler=Yes to boot based on info I read about Sony Vaio and external displays. I've arrived at three problems: disabling internal keyboard & trackpad, no internal display support, and no audio support. The first problem seems to be caused by installing a kext (or multiple) through the listed post-install methods that overwrites whatever HID kext(s) the installer already has from the pre-install. The fix is likely "just don't install that kext" though I have yet to discover what those kexts actually are for the moment. The second and third seem to be common problems here with Hackintoshing Sony Vaio laptops. Are there successful methods to enabling internal display and working audio on Mavericks 10.9.3 on Sony Vaio VPCF115FM? I'm not willing to sift through 39 pages of unfiltered information knowing that all the (crossed-off) summarized solutions on the front page for a different OS are no longer valid, where there's also likely pollution from users of non-VPCF115FM devices, hoping there's something that pertains to Mavericks on my machine. I'm also limited by the fact that I have no internet at home where the external display is, so I have to do all my research outside then hope that it works when I get home. edit #1: Some research has led me to a patched AppleHDA on osx86.net. I'll give it a shot and see if it fixes audio.
8. Boa noite pessoal. Portatil: Insys m761su CPU: T3400 RAM: 4GB Grafica geforce 9300M GS
9. I recently built a computer and put a 3tb HDD in it. Because of MBR, Windows excludes 1tb of the 3. So I thought, Why not fill the terribyte with OSX? So I went looking for kexts to support my build: Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H Intel Core i7 Haswell 3.5Ghz EVGA GeForce GTX660 S2 2GB GDDR5 TrendNET TEW-643PI PCIe I cannot find a kext for the TrendNET internet card, and sadly the location of my computer cannot get an ethernet cable. I've heard of Lnx2Mac's Realtek driver but it says Lion and Sandy Bridge, and my processor is Haswell. Does anybody know of a driver for the TEW-643PI?

11. Hey, Yesterday I installed OSX 10.9. I installed it with the boot flag -x . Then I booted up and used ##### to install Chameleon and the other other stuff (##### Option). Then I've got the following error message when I boot with -v : After that I installed the newest FakeSMC and then I got the same error with the newer version (5.3.901): I also read that I should boot with UseKernelCache=No then I've got a kernel panic: I hope you can help me
12. Hello, I originally started with my WAMP stack running on Windows 8.1, and installed Mavericks on a second HDD so I have a "distraction-free" work environment. I used Paragon NTFS drivers to get R/W access to my NTFS partitions. This way, I was able to get the built-in Apache running and pointed it to my existing document root on the Windows partition. I then installed the exact same MySQL version (5.6.12) I had on Windows, on my OS X partition. However when I tried pointing the datadir to my old folder on my Windows partition, it didn't work: ERROR! The server quit without updating PID file Further reading brought up the possibility this could be a permissions issue. I know MySQL has a separate "_mysql" user on OS X, which I assume needs the same R/W access to my NTFS partition. Is there any way I can do this? I'm not sure the Paragon NTFS drivers give R/W rights to all users (I could be wrong). Or is there a better way I can set up auto-mount R/W NTFS access for all users? Hoping for some help. Thanks!
13. Hello guys, Two weeks ago I was cleaning my system from old and unused drivers and leftovers and it looks like that I deleted something that was crucial. Using UninstallPKG I removed unused Printer drivers, Old Dj Controllers, TeamViewer, RedGiant Components, LeagueOfLegends leftovers, LogMeIn leftovers, and more... My System: ------------- MacBook Pro (Early 2011) "Core i7" 2.2Ghz, 15-Inch, dual graphics processors -- an AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory and an Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics processor that shares 384 MB of memory with the system. Description Source: http://bit.ly/1iSmpen -------------------------------- THE STORY: -------------- - Bought my MacBook in July 2011, I updated to Lion OSX in July 2011 and since then I was just upgrading, never did a clean install. - Two years ago using BootCamp I installed Win8, which suddenly after a while messed up my bootloader, and the only way I was able to boot into my system was by: -- using Command+S (single-user mode) -- /sbin/mount -uw / -- exit to proceed to login screen. If i avoid CMD+S, Apple's logo appears then the loading bar + the spinning wheel and after a while eventually the system hangs, and it shutdown. - Since then using fsck my disk prints out disk0s2: I/O error... (I know that my disk might have some bad sectors, or maybe is failing, but my files are still there, I can still access them via terminal) Now my System, OS X Mavericks cannot boot and it stuck at a black screen with a flashing vertical white dash in the upper left corner, in which every 10 seconds is doing some kind of refresh trying to load stuff and it shows the cursor for just 1 second, or less. I believe that behind the black screen, Login Screen does not exist because: - I can occasionally see in an instance the cursor with a grey screen. - Commands appear occasionally on the black screen where the white flashing dash is (SMC, en0, etc) - Commands also appear sometime if I close the lid and re-open it after a while - I have tried to press the power button and after the button S (read somewhere that it should Sleep), never happened. [TRIED EVERYTHING] - Reset PRAM - Reset SMC - Deleted the /var/db/.AppleSetupDone - Tried to access Hardware Diagnostic, never started - Tried boot using Left Shift, never booted - Tried Recovery Mode, CMD + R -- Verifying permissions, but cannot repair permissions -- Verifying disk, but cannot repair disk -- Tried resetpassword using Utilities-> Terminal, cannot save a new password - Tried second screen using Thunderbolt->HDMI with now luck, the screen is white My next step is to buy a Thunderbolt cable and connect it to another mac and see if i can repair the permissions and or repair the disk using the second mac. I have my some files backed up, but there are a lot on-going projects with 3rd party plugins, so I want to try my best to make it boot! Any other ideas guys? I am dying here video: https://sendvid.com/7dzjjvsd
14. Hey guys, I really need help on this as I've tried many things and cannot get it working. I have recently upgraded my hardware to what's in my signature. The order was, I updated my old computer to Mavericks, then switched out the motherboard, processor and video card. I got the boot working with Clover or with Chameleon from USB. The last thing I did was clone my hard drive to a new SSD (sped up boot from 1:30 to around 10 seconds). I have this weird issue where 70% of the time when I reboot, my wallpaper on my primary (which is hooked to displayport so it shows as the second monitor) monitor is reset. If I launch mission control (used to be expose), I see on the top that I have extra desktops. So instead of just my Primary being Desktop 1 and my Secondary being Desktop 2, my primary desktop will also have Desktop 3 Desktop 4 and so on. I get a new desktop when I reboot. Sometimes I don't and the wallpaper I picked 5 reboots ago worked! I have clover installed onto my EFI and is set for uEFI motherboards. I've changed tons of different settings in clover and nothing fixes it. I've even recreated the user account and it still isn't working. It did seem to work for about 3-4 reboots when I created a temp user. I never even logged in as this user, I just created it. It may have kept working, but when I saw that happening, after a few reboots I decided to recreate the user account. I have a self-made UUID in my config.plist for clover and I think everything else looks fine. I have a GTX 780, which seems to work fine with OS X drivers without doing anything special. Is there a chance that OS X is loading faster than it is detecting my monitor, so it loads a default desktop? I don't know, that sound crazy, but I'm desperate... I greatly appreciate any help as this and getting bluetooth to actually pair with my keyboard are my last 2 issues.
15. If anyone can help me with this I'd be very grateful! I installed the latest Niresh distro (Mavericks) on my customac. I used all default BIOS (Or UEFI) settings except AHCI on, virtualisation off, and I enabled all legacy support options and disabled intergrated graphics. The distro installed absolutely fine, no arguments needed and no errors. It seems to boot fine too, no flags needed and it boots into the initial set-up screen, where everything seems to work perfectly. It doesn't hang or anything, there are no problems as far as I can tell. Then, about 1 minute into booting the OS (exactly a minute or so every time), it freezes for 2 seconds or so and then reboots the machine. There are no crash logs on reboot. I'm pretty sure it's not my hardware as I've got a Windows 7 install which has worked perfectly for years, and 10.8.3 worked fine with no crashed. Any quick fixes or ideas what the issue could be? Thanks in advance!! ~Luke Extra Info - I've tried virtualisation on, integrated gpu on, hpet on & off; no avail.
16. I'm attempting to use the GA-H81M-HD2 with the clover boot loader and i can't seem to get past the clover bootloader screen. I select the USB mavericks installer and the screen just goes black and the peripherals turn off. I see from some research people are having success with it but i can't seem to get it working past this screen. Has anyone else have success and has their DSDT settings available? I've seen reports with all disabled and i've seen reports where i have to specify the display hardware Id so i can get the built in HE4600 working but nothing has granted me success. BTW i've already got my GA-Z81X-UD3H working flawlessly with clover.
17. Hello there, here is my spec: Asus 15" K73sv 1600x900 internal screen is completely destroyed i5 Sandy 2410M NVidia 540M 1GB Display output via HDMI & VGA Using 10.9.3 and latest Chameleon (78) No custom DSDT ---------------------------------------- I have really strange display issues. When I connect a display via HDMI everything just works perfect and I can use a resolution up to 1080p on my BenQ. Put I'am setting this Asus up for a friend and he only got a VGA Screen with a reso auf 1600x1050. When I connect the laptop via VGA the screen is stretched and flickering like hell. This does not appear with a HDMI display. After I started looking where the problem is coming from I noticed that in the systemsettings the external monitor is listed as an internal so I can set a maximum resolution of 1600x900. While the bootloaders GUI is shown in the native resolution of 1600x1050 but as soon as the loading sun disappears the resolution is setted to 1600x900. So there are different ways to help me. First thing will be to set the internal resolution easily to 1600x1050 or say the bootloader to load the whole system in this resolution. Second thing is to get the 540M fully functional (what is impossible i think?). Third thing would be loading a custom EDID into the system. (I could extract the EDID via VGA with a other Mac) Here is the EDID from the external screen extracted with the Asus and the screen is clearly listed as "AppleDisplay": ioreg -l | grep -5 IODisplayEDID | | | | | { | | | | | "IOClass" = "AppleDisplay" | | | | | "CFBundleIdentifier" = "com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily" | | | | | "IOProviderClass" = "IODisplayConnect" | | | | | "DisplayProductID" = 721 | | | | | "IODisplayEDID" = <00ffffffffffff0030e4d1020000000000140103802615780a88a59d5f579c261c5054000000010101010101010101010101010101012f2640b860840c30303023007ed710000019000000000000000000000000000000000000000000fe004c4720446973706c61790a2020000000fe004c503137335744312d544c4e32002b> | | | | | "IODisplayPrefsKey" = "IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/AppleACPIPCI/GFX0@2/AppleIntelFramebuffer@0/display0/AppleDisplay-30e4-2d1" | | | | | "IOPowerManagement" = {"MaxPowerState"=3,"CurrentPowerState"=3} | | | | | "IOProbeScore" = 2000 | | | | | "IODisplayParameters" = {"bgsc"={"min"=0,"max"=65536,"value"=65536},"rgsc"={"min"=0,"max"=65536,"value"=65536},"bklt"={"min"=0,"max"=1808,"value"=0},"ggsc"={"min"=0,"max"=65536,"value"=65536}} | | | | | "IOMatchCategory" = "IODefaultMatchCategory" Thanks to everyone who read my rock of a post
18. I'm having a strange problem on a new install and I can't seem to find a resolution or similar problem on the forums after much searching. Currently all of my Finder windows & Apple apps are displaying buttons without icons. My menu bar has several icons that I can best describe as "glitched out" they appear randomly pixelated like you applied an extreme grain filter in Photoshop. Here are my system specs: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5 GHZ Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H Z87 LGA 1150 Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz Crucial M500 960GB SATA 2.5-Inch SSD (x2) EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX770 2GB GDDR5 256bit LG Electronics 14x Internal BDXL Blu-Ray Burner Rewriter Attached is a screenshot of many examples. I'm assuming this is a graphics card error. I did try installing the Nvidia Web Drivers but nothing seemed to change. If there is anything else I should be trying I would love the suggestions. Thanks.
19. Hey guys. So today, I checked out Niresh's Mavericks (w/ AMD support) and followed the "How to install OS X Mavericks on your PC with Niresh" and encountered an error literally just before the installation completed. Here are some screenshots taken from my S4: My specs are: CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 (1090T BE) (Which Niresh confirmed that AMD Phenom II X6 1090T is fully compatible with his Mavericks distro) Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AM3 RAM: 4GB I installed the Niresh Mavericks Installer (.dmg) on a virtual machine of OS X Mountain Lion's Disk Utility (not on Windows'). All of that worked fine. I was able to boot into the installer on my 32GB SanDisk USB stick and was installing Mavericks on a portable USB 3.0 (Western Digital Passport) hard disk. Please help!

HP Compaq plist

I am getting the error "an error occurred while installing OS X." I have found a few different things that I can't figure out. It seems like my Intel computer is up to the hardware requirements but I don't know what plist settings I should have... i'm using the Chameleon Wizard to edit my plist file and i've tried a bunch of different stuff. This is my computer, and here are my plist settings... plist.tiff I've messed with the plist settings 100 times and can't get it right... I have ACPI mode on in my bios but I can't find UEFI settings anywhere, the bios version is "786G1 v01.23". But since I can get to the installation screen doesn't that mean i'm past most of the issues? I am also getting an error "BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist", no idea how to get rid of that. Do I need to flash my bios to get UEFI settings correct? I have been Googling around on how to do that and can't find out how to do it. I have given it my all... I am stuck
21. I just installed Mavericks 10.9 on a mid-2013 macbook air. The external keyboard is no longer working from either usb port (external usb mouse does work, however, as does external firewire display). Reset SMC to no effect. Any suggestions appreciated.
22. Hi, After many attempts after trying to solve this on my own i'm asking for your expertise I've successfully completed the installation of Mavericks but on booting I can't get past this error message: "Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport!" after this it halts. I'm able to boot with -x but I can't any other way. My system specs are: Asrock Z77 Pro4 Pentium G2030 ATI Radeon HD 7770 1Gb And i'm also using Clover bootloader. Can anyone help me?
23. Hi everybody, i have a Samsung np500p4c-t03cl laptop, and after a lot of problems, i finally can install OS X in my pc using Niresh Mavericks DVD. but, so as i said before, i've got some troubles with my installation, caused by hardware i think. my laptop specs are: Intel® Core™ i5 3210M (2.50 GHz, 3 MB, caché L3), Intel HM76 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M gDDR3 1 GB // Intel HD 4000 DDR3 de 8 GB a 1,600 MHz (4 GB x 2), 2 SODIMM S-ATAII de 1 TB (5,400 RPM) Wifi Qualcom Atheros AR9485WB-EG Eth Realtek PCIe GBE Realtek audio card troubles are: -for some reason osx only boot with the flags PCIRootUID=1 -x -v, is that "normal"? if i dont use -x flag the mic start to capture audio and the speakers got noise (i read in bootloading some of voodooHDA failed or something like that) -without flag -x got troubles with the Win8 partition -doesnt recognize usb devices (usb mouse is what only works) with this i cant run ##### -and wifi, but I found out that my network card is not supported yet -i can boot osx only using the niresh dvd, otherwise boots win8 automatically thanks in advance, ive googled a lot to find some responses, but no success.
24. Hello, folks! After struggling a lot to get the main things up and running with a Sony Vaio that a borrowed for this month while my 1201n is being fixed, I get at the point almost everything is running like it should. Since it's a 2nd-gen I3 lappie with integrated HD3000, Atheros 9285 and Realtek 8168, I was lucky enough to get everything working without dongles or part replacements (which I couldn't do since the device is not mine). Now I came to the fine-tuning phase, where things like power management matter. I found a patched AICPUPM that let me boot without NCPUPM without a kernel panic, and I generated a SSDT with Pike's script. I didn't measure it, but since the performance is being great since then, I assume speedstep is working fine. However, it won't sleep, and if I put it to sleep manually, the HDD less will keep showing normal activity, as well as the fans, but I won't be able to "wake" the laptop, needing a hard reboot. I just ran the pmset -g assertions command and got this output: Since I'm working with Logic at the moment, I'll ask you to disregard any Logic/Coreaudio related stuff, as they are absolutely normal and have no relation with my system sleep issues. Earlier, when i ran the same command (unfortunately I wasn't sharp-minded enough to remember taking a screenshot at the moment) I got all the assertion status showing as zero (0) but also got the same kernel assertion at the bottom, and I'm pretty sure I got a problem with EHCI. So that's my question: which of the EHCI patches should I apply to my DSDT? EHCI sleep or EHCI ownership (or both)? I'll attach also and IOREG and my current DSDT, just in case anyone want to take a look and see if there's something else harming system sleep that I should have noticed. All the best! Archive.zip
