Compare and Contrast these three. (sounds like am english exam paper)

Which is better and why?

We're talking about speed, compatibility (MS's obviously better), ease of use, looks, memory usage, disk usage, bugs/crashes... etc.

Let the community know what you think. Possibly even score them accordingly.

Download Here: NeoOffice or OpenOffice

(Note: Don't let money be a major factor but instead a minor, as we all know MS Office is expensive and the others are free.)

i like Microsoft Office 2004 but it's too slow ...

i can't work with big excel files... unusable....

that is why i use and vote for NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3....

and i'm waiting for new UB Microsoft office.... when it will out - i'm sure i will use it..

NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE! NONE!

Actually,

all seems to slow down the PC, the best is "ThinkFree Office" blazingly fast on a HACKINTOSH!!!!

THANKS!

boo50, thanks for sharing your thoughts and the reason as to your final decision.

NeilM, it actually opens a terminal? I would have to uninstall that right away if I had it.

dark.developer, thanks for your suggestion. I've haven’t heard of "ThinkFree Office" and will definitely look into it. Is it a free app? Seems you are required to register to the site. That's a bit of a letdown even though you get 1GB online storage.

I can't seem to be able to add "ThinkFree Office" to the current poll. Anyone knows how to do it?

Keep your suggestions coming in. Office is such a major part of most people life. It matters that you make the right choice in which you use.

While I like to use OpenOffice, I'm using Microsoft Office because it's what my school uses on their systems. While I know OO is fully capable of opening Microsoft Office .doc files, if I open a .doc that was created at school and save it at home with OO; it looks different if I work at school again. I also use a template, which again due to different renderings, I use Microsoft Office.

I have not used any productivity suites in OSx86 yet, but I'll try Microsoft first. I installed it for fun and because I can, so I don't really plan on using it as my main operating system.

To be honest I'm just holding my breath for the next release of Office for the Mac, and I REALLY hope that it's got some feature parity close to that of its windows counterpart.

Office 2007 is a sleek, smart, well-put together interface. If only the same could be said of Vista. =P

I'm using OpenOffice, but I voted for NeoOffice (which is essentially just a rewrite of OpenOffice in Java and using the Aqua interface). The reason is that my Hackintosh is too slow for running heavy duty Java apps.

I need to install one of the applications listed on a 350Mhz G3 with 128MB memory (will update this to 512Mb hopefully) and around 5GB of disk space left free.

What would be a more ideal Office suite to use for now (128MB) and later (512MB)?

Thanks for any help :)

I use neo office because it's free and doesn't require X11. on windows i use open office. i don't use ms office at all as that's not a freeware. i know there are still some incompabilities between ms office and the free products, but i'm not going to spend so much money to buy ANY ms product :)
