Hey, I've successfully installed and configured my Yosemite hackintosh, now my multi monitor setup (24" 1920x1080 + 19" 1280x1024) works fine in OS X itself, But even though i set my 24" one as my main monitor, the login screen keeps showing on my secondary 19" one.

Anybody got any idea on how to fix this?

Switch ports?

I use DisplayPort + DVI. For a long time I was using a single monitor on the DisplayPort.

When I connected my second display to DVI, BIOS screens and boot process moved to the second display. I assumed I'd have to live with that.

My GTX 660 has two DVI ports. I switched DVI ports by accident one day when I was cleaning. Now, the BIOS, login screen and everything else is back on the display that's connected to the DisplayPort.

I have an issue which may be the same/similar.

For whichever video output is set as primary, I can only boot successfully if I actually connect to the secondary output.

E.g. if I want to use DP I must set HDMI as primary and DP as secondary (or else it never reaches the desktop). Similarly if I want to use HDMI then I need to set DP as primary or again it simply fails to reach the desktop.

System is a  Haswell NUC with HD 5000.

BTW, with Mavericks - using the same Clover setup (rev 2721) -  everything is okay…...

Other than that, all seems good.

Any ideas ?

Go to display and drag the white bar at the top of the incorrect screen to the top of the primary screen. Help this helps!

EDIT: Sorry, seems I didn't read the thread through... This post must be pretty useless. :D

Yep, pretty much….

Think I am happy that for the moment there is nothing for me to do and I can live with it.

Looks like this bizarre quirk is hopefully a bug that will resolve itself with upcoming DP. Either that or more people will notice and report it and a solution will be found. It's not a huge deal, but does mean that at start up I have to deal with low res graphics until the desktop arrives (in full QE/CI….).

Very likely there are quite a few people out there who think that they can't boot 10.10 at all because they never tried it on their secondary graphics connection.

Did anyone ever solve this issue in official Yosemite release? I'm using a laptop and have this issue. The only thing that disturbs me is that the number of desktop in the Mission Control increases on each boot.

One thing that I noticed is that at the login screen, it has a default arrangement in which my laptop screen will be on the left upper of my external monitor. Is there any way we can change the default arrangement?
