Hello. I've finally got my hackintosh up and running but I can't get QE and CI enabled with my EVGA NVIDIA GTS 250. In fact, the system info reports its an unrecognized graphics card. I've been looking all over the web for solutions. NVInjectors and the like can't fix the problem. I see online that DSDT edits can fix this but the instructions i found for the GTS in DSDTSE say you should do it after you have QE CI enabled.

Can someone help me figure out how to get my graphics card properly recognized, QE CI enabled and get this system up and running?

Thanks and happy holidays

Specs:

Asus P8p67 pro rev 3.1

I7-2600k 3.4 ghz sandy bridge

EVGA Nvidia Gts 250 g12 mb

8 gb ram

Here you get some infos about EFI-String: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76

Rampagedev is telling, that this method is not needed for the GTX 6xx. It is a guide for gfx Nvidia edits.

Please use the platform search for general informations about editing a DSDT.aml.

Have fun.

Hey. When I used his method, my system info changed to unknown graphics card with 3 MB of ram. When I turned graphics enabler back on, it properly recognized my card, but still can't enable QE/SI.

thank you so much for your help so far. This forum has been the only one that has actually tried to help me. you guys are awesome!

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has any new ideas on how to get my graphics card recognized and get QE/CI functioning. As i stated previously, after doing the graphics card injection linked above my card is reported as "Display 3 MB" in system information.

thanks!

Hello,

@Styrian: So i redid the instructions for the DSDT editing and now my graphics card is showing up properly in "About This Mac" and "System Information." Unfortunately, I'm still not able to change my resolution or get QE/CI enabled. Below is the link of a screen shot for my graphics info that I see. Any recs from here.

@Derty: Thanks for the suggestions. For this install, i used chameleon wizard. I'm not familiar with chamelon (although I can read up online and become familiar) as well as .dylib file types. Given that the DSDT seems to have gotten me one step closer to getting a better functioning graphics card, do you still recommend I use those kext/files and if so how do I properly use them?

Thanks!

Also, it may be important to know that the NVDAResman and NVDAResmanTesla kext are not currently installed as i get a kernel panic if they're installed.

the modules are putting into folder whit name modules, into extra folder.

if dsdt go good, not is necessary.

nvdaresman is necessary, it is strange which creates a problem... my installation is vanilla, i have all kext original. only smbios Mac Pro 3.1, and this modules.

not know what else to help

Hey heres an update. I have reinstalled maverick using Andy's method for my mobo and my card is natively recognized in the system info with the help of graphics enabler. Unfortunately, I still dont have QE/CI or the ability to change my resolution. I  was able to get the DSDT info to show up in the system info (prior to this install) but no QE/CI that time either.

When I did this install, I was still unable to install or boot with the nvdaresman or nvdaresmantesla kexts. Any advice on how to trouble shoot the kexts and make them work?

thanks!
