  1. HI, I'm trying to enable my HD530 (i7-6700k) along my GTX 970 to use QuickSync and get better render times and all the advantages of it... also I need to use airplay mirroring. As now all is working except it, and i'd like to get it working. My problem is that when fcpx or another app exports the IGPU usage always stays at 0%... How can I solve this? (Kexts Lilu,Whatevergreen,AppleALC,Realtek8111,fakesmc) MY config and gen debug results attached. debug_3335.zip config.plist
  2. Hi, I recently got my Hackintosh setup with Sierra. The specs are: Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 Motherboard Intel Core i5 6500 8 GB DDR4 Memory Simple HDD boot EVGA GTX 960 (Problem) It boots fine, but until I install any driver, (I've tried loads of versions), it won't boot. It just boots to verbose and stops, or sometimes, the screen will go black and it will restart. So basically, Graphics drivers really stop me from booting. But I need them because the performance of the OS is pretty bad because of it. (Sort of) Can someone give me some guidance, or link me to an appropriate driver or something? Thanks, Daniel

    Help! My Graphics Doesn't Work!

Hi, Please help me to enable and use hd 3000 with Mojave. I know that I can install some .bundle or .kext files to make it can be enable. But it always show an err msg up. "IOConsoleUsers gIOScreenLockState 3 ......" I have tried to reinstall the refi drivers and kexts. but still not solved this issue. I will upload my EFI partition as a zip file below (Google Drive, Because It's bigger than 10 mb). Thanks for helping. For the details about my hardwares, please see my "About Me" page->Brian's Budget Hackintosh. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1E2aFpweYwKzcJj98zRroWSwFLVf5gz62/view?usp=sharing Cheers, Brian
  4. PREFACE I’ve used a 2015 15” MBP as my main system since it was released. I do photo and video editing in the Adobe suite regularly and have been eyeballing the performance of the latest MBP models. I’m on the road all the time, so a laptop is basically my only option. After the whole mess with the CPU VRM hardware flaws being made apparent by the poor power management profile shipped at release with the 2018 i9 MBP I’ve been more weary of the hardware design of MacBooks. That’s before I account for losing all USB-A ports, losing the SD card slot (‽), losing reliability and tactility of the keyboard, and losing the ESC key to the touchbar; if I compare the 2018 MBP to my current 2015. Given these flaws, I have been researching the performance situation comparing the 2018 MBP to the X1 Extreme, XPS 15 9570, and the Razer Blade 15 2018. These are essentially the only options for a road warrior that needs a high quality panel and the best CPU and GPU that can be crammed into around 4lbs (1.8kg). I used to use a ThinkPad T42p and loved it when it was new. So fast forward to now and the release of the ThinkPad X1 Extreme. It’s a truly tempting machine for an artist, given that the 4K UHD version offers just about the best color gamut available on any laptop panel. I get back the USB-A ports, get one of the fastest SD slots on any laptop, and get one of the best laptop keyboards on the market. That’s before even considering power management and modularity. I’ve been dabbling in learning Machine Learning, so a system with an nVidia GPU (CUDA) is a bonus on that front as well. For me the best color reproduction on a high resolution display panel was most important. The X1 Extreme has that, so I’ve ordered one. I got it with the fastest i7, base SSD and memory, and have separately purchased two 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M.2 SSDs and 2x16GB DDR4-3200MHz memory (just in case it’s possible to overclock the memory on the X1 Extreme). I got the system for $2,100 from Lenovo USA, and the SSDs ($390 x 2) and memory ($330) from Amazon US for a total of ~$3200. These are easy to install on the X1 Extreme as the bottom cover is easily removed to reveal the M.2 and SODIMM slots. To compare, the 2018 MBP with the fastest i7, 32GB memory, and 2TB SSD is $4400. So I can save $1200 and get a faster system (on all counts) with a better panel and better connectivity by going with the X1 Extreme. The only thing I’m compromising is losing the big beautiful haptic touchpad and a bit more refined hardware aesthetic. Though, to be honest, I’ve kept a big thick dual-layer Tech21 case on my 2015 MBP. So I’ll actually be going down in volume and weight by moving to the more rugged ThinkPad. I think I can live without the touchpad. Oh, by the way, the 4K UHD panel of the X1 Extreme has touch and decent pen support! Another bonus vs. the MacBook. Though I keep a 12.9” iPad Pro around for my pen work and can’t imagine using a laptop similarly. It’s still nice to have a laptop screen actually respond when I go poke at it accidentally after switching back and forth between laptop and iPad. TOPIC So I want macOS with proper discrete GPU support on a 2018 MacBook class laptop. That’s not possible on a pure Hackintosh as things stand, but via a macOS virtual machine it looks like it could work with what looks like some relatively bleeding edge support of PCIe UEFI passthrough. People have been doing this on Linux hosts to Windows VMs with some great success recently: https://gist.github.com/Misairu-G/616f7b2756c488148b7309addc940b28 And it looks like that’s coming for macOS VMs as well: https://github.com/kholia/OSX-KVM/blob/a4fb2fd5aae871bdbc371b0cd31d4d8129d0f9ac/UEFI/README.md The X1 Extreme, XPS 15 9570, and Razer Blade 15 (2018) are essentially direct competition to the 2018 15” MBP. I would really like to see these three systems get some nicely fleshed out guides for getting maxed out compatibility and performance in macOS running in a VM for these systems. When I get my X1 Extreme I’ll start working on it for that one. I will post updates here. I hope to inspire others with the other two systems (or looking to get them) to do similarly. 15” MACBOOK CLASS LAPTOP COMPARISON I chose the X1 Extreme largely because of the excellent 4K UHD HDR panel (100% of 2D AdobeRGB and 85.5% of 3D AdobeRGB, basically unparalleled), good mix of thermal performance and noise management, and overall ruggedness and connectivity. If I were a gamer I would go with the Razer 15, but the fast low-gamut 1080p panel just doesn’t work for my purposes. If I were most concerned with aesthetics or battery life (97Wh battery for it vs 80Wh for X1E) I would go with the XPS 15. I am aware that the second 2018 refresh of the MBP is coming ~Nov 14, with the new AMD Radeon Pro Vega 16 and Vega 20 GPUs, and it looks like the latter might offer up to a 60% performance boost over the Radeon 560X. Maybe it has even given Apple enough time to update the CPU VRM along the way. This could make the performance picture more comparable for the 1050 Ti based X1E and XPS 15. I believe the 1070 Ti based Razer 15 will still win out though. Still, if you compare the fan and heat pipe solution put into the X1E vs the MBP the MBP just looks wimpy in comparison. MBP has smaller fans, less venting, and only one (smaller, thinner) heatpipe. It’s also more difficult to access if you want to put a better thermal paste or liquid metal on it. Put simply, the thermal hardware on the MBP is basically the same design for the last 3 years and it can’t keep up with the hex-core processors. So even with the Volta 20 GPU making the MBP competitive again on the graphics end, the MBP will still be falling short on the CPU performance plane. This is before we even look at tuning options. Getting into tuning, it’s possible to improve thermal performance of all the laptops in this class by around 15-20% by using either a best in class thermal paste like Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or (if you’re willing to deal with all the caveats that come with using a conductive fluid that permeates other metals) a liquid metal interface like Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. The liquid metal gives you the best possible conducting interface, and the paste is more forgiving and easier to apply. Further, it is often possible to stably undervolt the Coffee Lake i7/i9 available in this class of systems to further improve performance, thermals, and power consumption (generally another 10+%). Apple has deliberately made it impossible to undervolt the CPU on the MBP! This has been true since the first Skylake CPUs a few years ago. You used to be able to use a program called Volta to undervolt your CPU on macOS. This is a huge peeve for me and, combined with the general power and thermal underdevelopment, is one of the main reasons I want to get a competitor’s hardware. As a primer, the default voltage of modern CPUs is typically set conservatively high for the sake of production efficiency. With the current generation Coffee Lake CPUs it is commonly possible to set the CPU voltage about 100 to 150mv lower safely. This allows the CPU to run cooler and consume less power. For laptops which are thermally limited (basically everything in this new 6-core 14nm era), this also translates into better performance. It’s a tweak that actually improves reliability of your CPU. So it’s just stupid that Apple has deliberately made this impossible. Shame on them, someone else take my money. Wrapping up, my biggest quibbles with the X1E (before actually getting it) are that the 4K panel’s responsiveness is about the slowest I’ve seen on a modern panel, and it’s just really not suitable for gaming. There’s also what I consider an annoyingly high level of backlight corner bleed that I’m sure will be distracting during blackboxed video viewing. Hopefully these two issues will be fixed in next year’s iteration. Serious colour banding

Hello InsanelyMacForum, I managed to boot into Mac OS Sierra with my Intel Core 2 Duo, Nvidia 9400 GT and 4 GB of Ram machine, got internet and sound working, but the issue appears when I boot with Nvidia Web Driver. I get these acid colours, but Graphics Acceleration is working fine. I tried to inject EDID from my display, but no results as well. Would be really grateful if someone could provide some help. Thank you!

    AMD 7750 (7770, 7xxxx) fixture for Mojave

I have bought a 2nd hand AMD Radeon 7750 to fix my Mojave installation problems. Although the Vendor/Device Id is in AMD7000Controller.Kext, I get a black screen and with some changes a yellow screen. I can not find any useful information to fix that. All information are for High Sierra and older macOS versions. Is there any fix to resolve that? What if I buy an RX 650 for example?
Grazie in anticipo config.plist

Intel HD 620 issue after 10.12.6 update

Hello, After updating to 10.12.6 I removed fake CPU id and GPU id kexts and replaced ig-platform-id with 0x51960000 also injected intel GFX 0x51968086. Tried with IntelGraphics fixup kext. But still getting only 7mb video memory with no graphics acceleration and no brightness control. Please help me to fix my clover config. config.plist.zip
  10. Hi, I noticed some weird behavior with macOS High Sierra. This system was working just fine on Sierra 10.12.5, until I decided to update to High Sierra (10.13.3). The upgrade process went mostly fine I guess, but it got stuck in an infinite spinning wheel which would just keep overlapping. I went into verbose mode, and sure enough, I found "IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0" repeating over and over along with ACM errors... I'm really lost right now. I can boot in recovery mode and safe mode just fine, when the graphics drivers aren't loaded. Web drivers aren't installed. I installed NvidiaGraphicsFixup, but it didn't fix the issue. I tried deleting the native graphics drivers from macOS and installing web drivers, but it didn't help. SMBIOS: iMac13,1 Graphics card: ASUS GT630-2GD3 (It's a Fermi card and it needs injection, so I modified my DSDT. Full graphics acceleration worked in Sierra. No Clover injection. I tried using Clover injection instead, I saw no difference.) CPU: Intel Core i3-3210, iGPU disabled in UEFI All kexts updated to their latest versions, along with Clover. For more info, you can refer to the GitHub issue where I posted it. https://github.com/lvs1974/NvidiaGraphicsFixup/issues/3 Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time! config.plist

  12. Hi. I have a Lenovo Z510-b Laptop which I wanted to Hackintosh.this is my first one so I'm a newbie and don't kjow much. I did the process using an easy guide on Hackintosh zone which all I needed to do was to restore a pre maid installer on a usb disk and then boot ETC. After installation, I have faced several issues which I have managed to fix some of them gradually, but there are some I couldn't make it work: GRAPHICS: first of all lets talk about my main issue. The macOS only recognizes 4MB of my igpu and I can't make any difference. ( ill say what I have done for it so far) and for my Nvidia graphic I think it won't go so well ( after screwing my laptop up for 3 times) because I only have discrete or igpu option in my bios. ( discrete AFA I heard won't work) so im mainly hoping for my igpu. Things I have done for igpu: Have installed: FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext FakePCIID.kext intelGraphicsFixup.kext.kext using M u L Ti Be a St Have done clover settings: in devices tab,IntelGfx: 0x4128086 in Graphics tab, ig-platform-id: 0x0a260006 ( inject EDID and inject Intel checked) have checked fix intelgfx in api tab under fixes section * I even set the VRAM box in graphics tab to like 64 or 256 to see if it changes anything although I don't really know what is that for lol* PS: my bios doesn't have any option to set Vram like some guides suggest. AUDIO: this should be a minor issue. I do have the audio working using "M u L Ti Be_a St "and re booting after installing "100/200/300 series Audio Support" under "Realtek ALCxxx" section under audio tab under drivers section. but when I restart again, it just goes off! the installation suggests "Adds Rename HDAS to HDEF patch to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist." but I had( and still have) this patch in my acpi section! so I don't know what is the deal there; but I think its minor. Sorry for long text. I really hope you could help me out. I will now send you the information you need about my laptop specs and will attach my problem reporting files which I made using the script rehab man has suggested. NOTE : I get some warnings and errors during boot (verbous) although it boots perfectly, but I don't know if those are included in my problem reporting file or not, or whether it is important at all or not.but I haven't seen any errors there relating to graphics. ( I might be wrong tho). My laptop: Lenovo Z510 Inel Core i7 4702MQ Intel HD 4600 Nvidia Geforce GT740M Realtek Audio ( I thing its 230) Realtek Ethernet Intel Wi-fi ( obviously couldn't make it work) Thanks in advance! debug_3979.zip
  13. Hi, I just fixed my gt 620 in my hackintosh. But the main issue now, is that my cursor doesn't change when I hover over different things like the edge of the window, a link, and search box. There is also a bug in MC where the cursor is showing while I am playing. Specs: Intel Core i5 3350p, GeForce GT 620, and motherboard that came with my dell xps 8500.
  14. Hi guys! I have not acceleration in my IGPU graphic card, the system says: 7mb vram and everything goes very slowly, neither can to change resolution. I used lilu.kext and inteligraphicsfixup.kext but nothing happens. I tried a lot of things but nothing changes. Tried changing my Fake ID Intel: 0x59128086 and Inject Intel ig-platform: 0x59120000 but nothing happens. I`ve got this issue from 20 days ago and I don´t find the solution. My specs: Desktop Asus H110M-D mobo i3 7100 Kaby Lake Intel HD 630 IGPU 4gb ddr4 ram 500GB HDD WD High Sierra 10.13 OSX Any suggestion will be very appreciated!! Thanks in advance
  15. I'm not expecting too much help, but if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.I recently got my Hackintosh running on macOS 10.14, and went to install the graphics drivers for my Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti. My setup is a little different, so here it is:Screen 1 Screen 2 Screen 3Screen 1 and 2 are both connected to my 750 Ti, whereas screen 3 is connected to my iGPU, with is an intel HD 4600. The intel GPU works like a charm, just as it did under High Sierra. Now, I got the Nvidia Web drivers to "work" by removing any traces via the "Web Driver Toolkit" that others have recommended. I then patched the installer, installed it, rebooted, patched the installed drivers, and rebooted again, where the drivers are at their current state. This is where things get interesting though. All 3 monitors are recognized. My GPU is recognized in my system profiler. However, it is NOT able to be used to run a compute in Geekbench, meaning that GPU acceleration is obviously disabled. The other thing that doesn't work, is, well, the 2 monitors connected to the GPU. They are set to the correct resolution and refresh rates, and are recognized in System Preferences, and I can even drag things between the different desktops. But I can only see my cursor. The screens are totally black, and I can't see anything on them except my cursor moving across them. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks in advance!Specs:Asrock B85M-Pro4 MotherboardIntel Core i5-4690 CPUIntel HD 4600 GPU 1Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti GPU 2iMac 15,1 SMBIOSHere is a picture of what happenshttps://imgur.com/gallery/lWTLWlwMy clover and EFI folders are attached EFI.zip
  16. Hello everybody, it’s been a long long time since my last post here on this forum, I’m having a lot of issues trying to activate my graphic card, the system recognizes the graphic card but there’s not full acceleration, clearly shows up its name as Intel graphics HD 3000 with only 4 MB of video ram. I would like to know how I could fix this problem or a least any suggestion about it. The reason I came to this site one more time is because I have no clue how to edit or patch a DSDt.aml file, I have clover bootloader and still (seems to be easy but not for me LOL) so I don’t want to ruin the system once again. My configuration is OS macOS High Sierra 10.13 SAMSUNG series 3 NP300E5C-A0US INTEL CORE i3 - 2370M 2.4 GHz INTEL GRAPHICS HD 3000 WiFi ATHEROS AR5B95 MEMORY 6 GB DDR3 Wifi works *** Sound Works ***Ethernet Works*** Battery indicators and trackpad gestures are not working yet. Thank you guys in advance, I’ll keep myself reading and searching for any kind of solution for my laptop.. See attachment bootlog.txt CLOVER.zip DSDT.aml
  17. Greetings, I'm using Clover to run Yosemite 10.2 on Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7 with i7 4790K and GTX 970 with the latest Nvidia drivers. Occasionally, images are displayed corrupted like this: Similar corruption sometimes happens when I use Preview to export an image, which doesn't happen with Photoshop, for example. That leads me to believe that this is an OS X problem, possibly specific to Hackintosh. I've been searching for similar issues, but to no avail. The rest of the graphics is alright and it doesn't happen on Windows so the GPU appears to be fully functional. Any suggestions, please? Thanks!

  19. Hey guys, So after a few days I managed to install OS X on my Lenovo E540 laptop with a modified kernel but I am having a few problems, mainly graphics and audio. Lets start with graphics, I had assumed it would work natively, I was wrong. I have an Intel Core i5 4200M with 4600 graphics, it started out coming up as a generic adapter with 3MB of vram then I added 'GE=Yes' and 'IGP=Yes' and it identified itself. I then added 'IntelAzulFB' and a number to my boot .plist and as I go through the numbers the ram changes (vram has changed to 7mb so I guess thats progress? ). I'm only up to 6 so I'll try the rest but I thought I'd get a head start on seeking another opinion. Now I don't have a DSDT nor do I know how to compile/patch one, if anyone could take a shot at creating one for me I'd be very grateful! I have attached my DSDT in .dsl and .aml form (DSDT.zip). I would have preferred the 4600 to work natively but if it could be injected (correct term?) into my DSDT so that it's compatible with any future updates (10.9.x) or OS's (e.g. Yosemite) then that would be great. I did move all AppleIntel* kexts to a back up folder (via Chameleon '-s') but that did nothing, I have restored them now. I am using a Realtek RTL8111.kext to get my ethernet working and Voodoo PS/2 to get my trackpad and keyboard working. Interestingly I now have to boot with '-f' to enable. Also have to specify my resolution in my boot .plist, would like that to be managed by OS (same thing I know, just a preference). Heres my boot .plist: <key>GUI</key> <string>No</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1080x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>IGPEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>IntelAzulFB</key> <string>6</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-f</string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>SMBIOS</key> <string>/Extra/SMBios.plist</string> MacBookAir6,2 (Haswell) <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> Again please note that with 'IntelAzulFB 6' I am still going through the numbers. Also my audio is Conexant, don't know if that helps, Voodoo didn't work even after deleting AppleHDA. I've also got a weird icon in the status bar, no idea why its there or what it does, powering off card does nothing. Thanks for taking the time to read (or skim) over this and if you need any more info or have a suggestion, please do reply
  20. Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and hackintoshes. Just recently I was able to successfully install OS X 10.9 on my HP G62-470CA (specs here: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay?javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.prp_ba847bafb2a2d782fcbb0710b053ce01=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c02674415-2%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.tpst=ba847bafb2a2d782fcbb0710b053ce01&ac.admitted=1408231975655.876444892.199480143). Although I am super excited about using OS X I'm not quite happy yet. I am getting 1024x768 on a laptop that should be getting a higher resolution (and should be able to output a higher resolution). The icons look weird, there if flickering when browsing the web and other misc activities, and animations are a complete eye sore. Suffice to say I need help. The laptop works off of integrated graphics, the Intel HD 4000. How can I remedy the problems I am having. (Bonus: Is there a way I can also re-enable my VGA and HDMI, I usually output to an external monitor at 1920x1080). I'm sorry if this isn't satisfactory information for you to help me with my problems, please ask and I will try and get back to you with the information asap, I'm really new to this and am not completely sure what information I should provide. Thanks for your time, hopefully we can solve this problem.

  22. Hello. My AMD Radeon HD 6870 graphics card just died today. I'm currently running Mac OS X 10.7.4 on an Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard. I'm now debating whether I should replace my card with another one of the same model and keep my system as is, or if I should just update my OS X to Mavericks and upgrade my graphics card along with it. I'm having a really hard time deciding because I can't find a list of Mavericks' natively supported graphics cards. I'm confused as to whether all AMD 7000 series cards are supported, or if I should consider an NVIDIA card for Mavericks. I'm a total noob and I would prefer to avoid messing with kexts and such, so if I decide to upgrade to Mavericks, I would like a graphics card that's natively supported. If I do upgrade, I would do so using Andy's method (found here). Can you guys help me decide for a good graphics card for Mavericks? I do a lot of video and photo editing, so I would like a robust card. However, I'm kind of in tight budget since I did spend some money over the holidays. Any Input would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  23. I decided that I would try as many random things to my graphis card before I got a new graphics card (I decided I would get AMD RADEON HD 5450) So with my current ATI RADEON X200 I found out that I should be able to get full resoloution with Callisto so I thought I would try it out. Following the instructions I got nothing. I am not sure if I did it correctly but in the end when I rebooted there was no change. I System Profiler there was no just the usual (Display 7mb). I was wondedring if anyone could help me out. Also if anyone has Calisto drivers that work with ATI RADEON X200 or may work with it, it would be really helpful if you could reply as an attachment. Also is AMD RADEON HD 5450 a good choice?
  24. Hello. I've recently installed Mac OS X 10.8 ML on my custom built computer. I just plugged the USB, installed OS X on a partitioned Hard Drive (MBR), booted using the USB, worked smoothly. Just installed Audio, Network (Was already working), OpenCL Patch, Legacy USB, FakeSMC, DSDT-Free. Some problem I noticed is that it seems that my GPU (GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1024mb) isn't working at its fullest. First, some of the OSX animation seems choppy sometimes and the computer feels slow. Secondly, I think my GPU supports OpenGL 4.1, but here in Mac OS X, it shows that its version is 2.1. Thirdly, the Adobe applications tell me that my GPU doesn't have CUDA when I try to do enable GPU acceleration in After Effects and Premiere using guide: . I already tried updating to 10.8.3 (which made the computer slower somehow), updating the Adobe apps, installing the Nvidia drivers, the Nvidia CUDA Drivers, tried the OpenCL patch, etc. Still the same. 25. I'm having a strange problem on a new install and I can't seem to find a resolution or similar problem on the forums after much searching. Currently all of my Finder windows & Apple apps are displaying buttons without icons. My menu bar has several icons that I can best describe as "glitched out" they appear randomly pixelated like you applied an extreme grain filter in Photoshop. Here are my system specs: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5 GHZ Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H Z87 LGA 1150 Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz Crucial M500 960GB SATA 2.5-Inch SSD (x2) EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX770 2GB GDDR5 256bit LG Electronics 14x Internal BDXL Blu-Ray Burner Rewriter Attached is a screenshot of many examples. I'm assuming this is a graphics card error. I did try installing the Nvidia Web Drivers but nothing seemed to change. If there is anything else I should be trying I would love the suggestions. Thanks.
