mactabletman
I just finished getting 10.8.3 installed on my samsung ativ pro slate and have it close to fully working. Strangely enough, when i put the device to sleep and wake it back up the device ID's in system report window change for the usb ports. It also ejects and remounts most of them and the screen brightness gets turned all the way up. The last two things I need help with is the brightness and making these USB ports stable. The brightness slider is present in system preferences but it does nothing but turn the screen off at the very bottom of the slider. The usb unmounting and remounting wouldnt be such a big deal if it werent for the fact that it actually allows the wacom digitizer to fully be recognized and calibrated. I imagine this is because the wacom component is connected to an internal usb socket. I will attach some pictures and text of the before and after sleep device ids from the system report window. I tried going thru kexts and editing the plists to insert the new device id but after a day or two i just couldnt find the right place to put them. If its any hint as to what might be causing this. It only happens when I install the iousbfamily and iousbmassstorage kexts from ##### which i imagine are universal to recognize as many components as possible. When i have the stock 10.8.3 kexts it doesnt seem to act up but it also doesnt send power to the digitzer pen and wont even show up on the screen. Im completely stumped and will continue to plug away at it until i get it. But in the meantime any help would be greatly appreciated. I could be wrong but i imagine that the usb drives being ejected and remounted and the digitizer fully working after sleep could be related. If anyone has any clues or ideas about that or the brightness im all ears. Thanks a bunch in advance. Heres how the usb drives look before sleep BEFORE SLEEP (not working correctly.) Could i get these to identify this way permanently? Notice the ISD-V4 (wacom) product ID changes and even seems to switch connection locations.
