    CINTIQ COMPANION 2!

Hey bertolin! Welcome to the team! If i remember correctly it should work with the wireless dongle. I got the app store working with the ethernet hacks in this thread and the customized dsdt, look a few pages back it should be covered, Will try to verify when I get a chance!

Sorry to hear that youre having trouble. Hope you try and get it going, let us know! best of luck!

Hey Aaron, this could be due to the internal drive being MBR partition type, most OSX installers wont install to this. Try to install to an external usb drive first and then clone it internally.

hmm its a start but i believe its more than that. Clover configurator usually can put all the parameters in for you but they dont have the 12,1 profile yet. You can probably look up the variables with a google search. Not sure how big of a difference it will make but its a start. I would look into that model of macbook as it matches the specs of your machine the closest, at least graphics card wise. Also knowing there is a macbook with the 6100 would lead me to believe it should work.

I did the public release beta of el capitan and it didnt have pen support I cant speak for the graphics acceleration of your card however, give it a shot and if it works for graphics it might be a matter of switching out the kexts from el capitan with yosemite. It would seem the macbook pro 13 inch from early 2015 has 6100 graphics so implementing smbios of 12,1 somehow might help. Not sure if you all have tried it yet.

    1. Go into osx and install clover to the internal ssd. 2. customize the config file to auto boot into the preferred partition. Sorry no way to select one without keyboard for now, wish clover had touch. Not sure about wifi, will have to see what mine is running at, but never had any problems with it being slow. Also yes ive noticed the drain when its off also, seems to be fast. Strange.. Sorry Minesekt I deleted that partition, but im pretty sure I had hybrid mode working in windows after reinstalling. I believe you have to update some graphics drivers. It was a bit buggy tho.

No you shouldnt need the hex code. I think it should really just be a matter of switching out the ig platform id. 0x162b0004 for example.

Minesekt the acceleration should be a matter of finding the right ig platform id for clover. Google things like broadwell ig platform 6100 clover or other specs of your actual device. After a quick google search I found this suggestions InjectIntel=True ig-platform-id=0x16160002 / 0x16160000 Let me know if it works. Youre right about sleep I guess its not a huge deal as the device is a battery hog anyway and Im fine with saving and shutting down. I guess its just my OCD that wants everything working, also it would be kinda convenient. Chris8484 Thanks for the confirmation, yeah you got my hopes up haha, but it was what i figured so no worries. I have seen the flip steady case and am considering buying it. Its really quite genius, the only downsides I see are the price and the fact that its wrap around so it makes it look weird. Still might buy it tho.

In theory yes we should be able to get graphics working on all models, but I dont have access to an i7 so i cant say for sure. It hasnt worked on any el capitan build that i have tried, I have a feeling someone at apple has blocked it.

Hey chris, can you confirm that wake from sleep is working? I find this hard to believe. Not to doubt you, but no one has been able to get this to work. Are you sure it isnt just the screen sleeping and waking? Can you confirm the entire tablet is sleeping with the side light doing the "breathing" where it slowly fades and brightens. How do you wake it? Mouse, touch, etc? I will have to look into bluetooth for you and see where im at. As for the keyboard this is normal you have to go into System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Keyboard and then Enable Sticky Keys This will allow you to use the shift and caps keys. I was having a {censored} of a time with this too. Let me know if that helps and please confirm if the sleep is working or just screen sleeping. Also I have just installed the latest public beta of El Capitan and they seem to have disabled the wacom feature. The touchscreen and pen dont work even after installing the drivers. I tried to swap out the usb kexts from yosemite with no luck. I have no problem staying on yosemite, but would like to have to option to upgrade. Let me know if you guys have any ideas, im going to keep working on it.

Interesting find freestyl, I will have to check into that. Chuppie, I agree the answer to sleep might be found there too. I just got back from taking it to a cafe and having an art session with a friend to put it thru its paces. I planned to take my power cord expecting to need it and FORGOT IT! UGHH. So i really had to experience how portable it would be. I got about 2-3 hours of zbrushing and sketchbook pro use. It said 2 hours remaining from around 90 percent then i turned the screen down to half brightness. This is about what I was expecting. I dont know that windows would do much better but I imagine the power management might be better, will have to try it, but to be honest I would rather use OS X and deal with the slightly less time of use. I will just take my power cord from now on and invest in a powerbank for longer trips. All in all I freakin love it! Everything is pretty much working aside from sleep, for now I just save my work and shut down. I did also notice that I wasnt able to find the bluetooth option with this new wireless card. Do you have bluetooth working chuppie? If so what did you do to get it working? I will have to update the guide with all your guys hard work! thanks! EDIT I just saw you post about bluetooth, I will have to try it out when I get a chance. In the meantime I updated the first post and simplified the hell out of it. Also made a new installer pack with the kexts and edited DSDT.

Hey guys while using the cintiq on battery power I find its too powerhungry and awful with resources. Does anyone know anything about undervolting? I would like to clock the cpu down to about 15w.

Awesome I can confirm the wireless card works with the kexts from rehabman. Thanks again chuppy! Great find!

No that actually sounds about right, the osx installer wont allow installation to a drive with windows partitioning (GPT?) there are work around patches that should allow it but i have had hit and miss results with them. I just keep a clean install on an external drive then clone it to the internal to experiment on. If i mess anything up i just reclone the clean install and continue tinkering. I ordered the WiFi card and it should be here in a couple days.

    CINTIQ COMPANION 2!

Hey thanks for the thanks! it truly means a lot and keeps me going. As far as helping out, we all had to start somewhere and a lot of it is still alien to me. When i first started hacking the cintiq companion 1 i would sit up for nights on end just doing trial and error experiments. There is so so so much information to take in and so many damn variables it can all be a bit convoluted at times. I did notice when playing with El Capitan DP2 the sleep worked right away without having to add the genericusb kext, which I think we have to do in yosemite if I recall correctly. So the usb kexts are different, I might try to plug them into yosemite to see what happens, however the wacom interface no longer works in elcapitan so that could also be related to the new usb kexts. So far we can basically get it to sleep but it has a black screen on waking.
