Deviant0ne
What's the point of upgrading if you're just going to use it for simple tasks? I would say just keep 10.3.9 - That's my two cents anyway. Caslon
Tiger runs just fine on this mac. I used it for a few months with no issues. I would upgrade. It's always best to keep up with the times as far as os's go. If money is an issue don't bother because Panther was a good os as well. DiaboliK
tiger will run a bit smoother since it was compiled with a newer gcc than panther. other than that you get the dashboard and some few other proggies. also the more ram the better it runs. brewno
Upgrade it. Besides Dashboard, like DiaboliK said, you'll be able to use Frontrow for watching your DVDs. Swad
Yup, go with Tiger. If you're concerned about system resources, disable Spotlight and Dashboard. MrSin
My only experience with Mac OS's is with Tiger, and I have been thrilled with it since day one (9-4-05). Started with 10.4.2, now running 10.4.7 on by iBook G4 PPC and 24-inch Intel Core 2 Duo iMac . For what it's worth, I have run across a number of applications requiring 10.4 (Tiger) or later though.
