www0123
Hi there, want to buy a USB Sound device for OS X86.Which one has 5.1 output on it? or all just stereo? cheers The Griffin iMic may work for you. It has PC drivers, mac drivers and just plain works when you plug it into any intel-based mac. I've used an iMic on seven different machines that I've installed macosx86 (marlar, deadmoo, etc.). Check out their website to see if it will serve your needs. That's a Microphone and the question is about Output with 5.1 channels. My USB Sonica Theater works, but since Drivers do not load I only have 2 channels (Stereo) I did not test yet copyien the configuration file from my Mac. Sonica Theater has 7.1 capabilities, it also has Digital output (Coaxial) Another cards that works from M-Audio Revolution 5.1 and Revolution 7.1 PCI cards, and Transit (USB) with Digital output (Digital). I'm confident that in the future drivers will work on X86. My Creative sounblaster live 24 external USB works in 5.1. You have to set it up in the SOUND/MIDI utility. BTW, the apple supplied DVD player does not do 5.1. To test your setup use the Ice Age 2 HD trailer. It's encoded with 5.1. The only problem is that inserting and removing a miccophone or headphones in the SB box kills the sound until the next reboot. B612
Hercules Muse pocket 5.1 Usb works creat for me too low latency with garageband and it look great too That doesn't work 5.1! I have it, and it works only with 2 speakers (stereo). If yours REALLY works 5.1, please tell us what drivers you're using, so that all of us can enjoy it! I was about to buy this and was waiting since I wasn't sure whether it would work. I assume it will work without changing any kext file or installing any drivers? I may come back and ask you for details once I get it. Did you submit this to the HCL list? I didn't see it there and i think it's helpful to have it there. Off to Newegg and buying.. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2666-usb-soundevicewhich-one/#findComment-80635 Share on other sites
