funkmasta
I think it would help if we actually knew what your system was... what comparison can we make on the stats alone? deepsub
I think the baseline benchmark (100%) is a dual 2.0 Ghz G5 PowerMac. I'm getting mid-80's on my rig. InfernalEternal
Miramar, I see you also have a machine with a Pentium D 945. I'll most likely be purchasing the same CPU sometime soon, care to run/post up some XBench results? Much appreciated. Anyone want to guess-timate what the Mac equivalent would be? Dual-Core G5? stangn99
Ok. I did an Xbench on my Dual 2.0ghz PPC G5. I swapped out some ram and popped it in my PC. Getting ready for Suse. I took a screen shot. Im going to give up on the X86 business. I got everything working perfect, but I saw the video preview on the new OPENSUSE release...and . WOW...im going to try it out. zedzed
I would say that the score of 95 in your first post is pretty good. stangn99
Hey guys, I read up on the forum on Beam Sync and Quartz 2d enabling. I tried it out and perm. disabled Beam sync and perm. enabled Q2D. I have no run into any errors at all. Everything still looks great. It felt a little snappier (user interface that is). So i did another Xbench... this time with BS disabled and QE2D enabled, I got 101.7 Im happy with that. It runs Adobe CS2 pretty well too. Takes about 10 seconds longer to load than my actual G5..but once it loads, I dont notice any lag or performance issues compared to my G5. So far so good. kada
My system... Athlon 64 3200+ @2,4 GHz, GeForce 6600GT, Samsung P120 drive, 1 GB RAM (PC2700 only unfortunately), and more for this benchmark unimportant stuff The system actually runs good enough, although QE etc. would be great, because I want to do some video editing.
