Anticus
Hi, is it possible to get OS X work on my PC? I tried iDeneb 1.3/4, Leo4all, iAtkos, iPC and it seems that there is a problem with my IDE DVD-ROM or SATA2 HDD. I also tried VMWare images and everything worked fine (Leo, Snow Leo) in linux. I can install on my PC only 1 version (author of the version tested it with the same configuration like me and it worked fine for him), but after restart, it stops on loading of ACPI device. Other versions say something like "Waiting for root device" or something with SAM media. Here is my HW specif.: Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (socket 939) Graphic card: nVidia GeForce 7600 GT Motherboard: ASUS A8N5X (nForce4 chipset) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256305-acpi-and-nforce4-problem/ Share on other sites

Anticus
try checking nforce sata driver on installation option But that's the problem. I can't get into installation. I can install only 1 version, but it doesn't have nforce sata driver in customize options. Is there any way how to add it? Gringo Vermelho
it stops on loading of ACPI device. Other versions say something like "Waiting for root device" or something with SAM media. Stops loading on ACPI device: In your BIOS, Enable ACPI 2.0, ACPI APIC and all advanced CPU features except CPU ID Limit. There might be other AMD specific stuff in there you can toggle that I don't know about, never owned anything with nforce chipset or an AMD cpu. Disable hardware that is not required during the installation process such as on-board sound, firewire- serial- and parallel ports. If that doesn't help, try a CMOS reset. Remember to re-configure your BIOS on first boot. Still waiting for root device: This has nothing to do with the drives themselves, this is a drive controller thing. Change BIOS settings for your SATA/PATA controller Use only SATA drives If using a PATA drive (DVD or HDD) jumper and connect it as master at the end of the PATA cable with no other device connected to the same cable Make sure your installation media has the right drivers for your drive controller. If your motherboard has nforce chipset, Google/forum search for user Verdant's nforce guides for more information. SAM Multimedia error: Read/Write error on your install media. Burn it again, use quality media and burn at the slowest speed supported by drive and media. Anticus
Tried everything, but nothing worked. Btw, I don't have any advanced CPU features, only a few (but they aren't important). themacmeister
I have had success with 10.6.6i Hazzard installer. Boot from Hazzard 10.6.6i, it is very slow, but it does work eventually. Use IDE DVD + IDE HDD. You should be able to clone it back to a SATA HDD later.
