  1. Here is the final kextpack - absolute necessity -> http://www.4shared.com/zip/L_N8E35Sba/Final_Acer_Aspire_4752_kextpac.html Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 on an Acer Aspire 4752 (MS2349) REQUEST: If you have a fully unlocked BIOS (advanced/power) for this laptop, please contact me. Luckily, AHCI is enabled by default. The BIOS I have WILL NOT BOOT from GPT formatted internal drives. I wish it were otherwise, as the computer would be more fluid, and extensible with GPT (easy resize/repartition), as well as the ability to install a recovery partition. You can retroactively convert MBT to GPT using open-source tools, but I am not sure how safe it will be? UPDATE: I reverted to a different DSDT.aml without patches. I will need to re-run IRQ dsdt patch, as audio auto-sensing jack and HDMI audio not working at the moment. I had them working, as the screenshots show. This may also be why shutdown/restart was misbehaving... will try again and report back. UPDATE: It WAS the IRQ patch. Fixed and Final and last kextpack uploaded above. ~75MB REQUIREMENTS MyHack for creating Mac OS X Mavericks boot USB (included in kextpack) InstallESD.dmg or full "Install OS X Mavericks.app" for 10.9 or 10.9.4 UPDATE: 10.9.5 installer app now available via App Store!!! OSXUpdCombo10.9.4.dmg (download from Apple if required) Download my kextpack above - this is ESSENTIAL. Working Hackintosh or real Mac to create boot USB disk. 8GB+ USB disk/stick for boot media. HARDWARE Core i3 2350 @ 2.3GHz (2 cores - 4 threads). 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SODIMM. 500GB HDD. Intel HD Graphics 3000. Incompatible WiFi card. 1366x768 backlit screen. 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0. Pioneer DVD-RW. Broadcom SD-Card Reader, HDMI-video-out, VGA-out, Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet. Broadcom 2070 USB HCI Bluetooth (optional). UPDATE: Using Atheros AR9B195 Combo Card, I am of the opinion that I am using Bluetooth on the card, because I covered pin 51 with electrical tape, and I have bluetooth discovered and working again. I will double check this before going any further, but the combo card is Atheros AR9285(WIFI)/AR3011(Bluetooth), so Bluetooth3.0 +HS instead of 2.0 :-) HARDWARE CHANGES Replaced existing incompatible pcie wifi card with Atheros 9285 based card. GUIDE CREATE BOOT MEDIA Use MyHack to create OSX boot USB disk. Remove the first two problematic kexts if it asks. Keep AppleTyMCEDriver.kext Extract MyHack_Extra_for_USB_Boot_creation.zip and copy and replace Extra folder on root of USB. Copy my kextpack onto your boot USB media. This will make your install so much easier. Run MyFix (FULL) on boot USB. If the following install does not let you install to an MBR formatted drive, use one of the patches I provide (only for 10.9 and 10.9.4). INSTALLATION Shutdown your laptop. Make sure it is on the charger. Insert your USB boot disk into left-side port. Start your laptop and quickly press F12 until the boot choice screen appears. I had some issues with initial USB detection, but removing, reinserting and restarting fixed all that. Press F8 at the boot prompt and enter the following: GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes -f -v Press Enter At the main install screen, launch Disk Utility from the Utilities menu, and format your main HDD as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as MBR (under Options... button). Install as normal. At the end of the install, MyHack will prompt you to remove problematic extensions. Remove the first two, but keep AppleTyMCEDriver.kext. UPDATE TO 10.9.4 UPDATE: Not needed when using newest 10.9.5 Install Mac OS X Mavericks.app Boot with the USB stick again, select your laptop hard drive this time, but as before, type: GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes -f -v Update to 10.9.4 INSTALL ESSENTIAL KEXTS Reboot same as before with USB stick and GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes -f -v Install Chimera 3.0.1 Delete MyHack.kext from /System/Library/Extensions Delete existing /Extra folder and replace with contents of supplied CURRENT WORKING EXTRA folder.zip Delete existing /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext Decompress Kext Utility 2.5.7 onto Desktop Drag all kexts in KEXTS_YOU_NEED_THESE by dragging them all onto Kext Utility. This should now have your laptop in a fully working state. Run Kext Utility 2.5.7 to fix permissions and create kext cache. Reboot, should start Mac OS X in GUI mode immediately. All available software (App Store/iTunes Store/iCloud/Steam etc.) and networking working fine. NOT WORKING AT THIS POINT ONE ACPI Fn-Key is non-functional (Brightness-Down)but it is mirrored at fn-F12. This also means no caps-lock and scroll-lock. Might be fixable with raw keycodes. Lid-Open Wake not working (lid-close sleep works). Wake from Power Button only (almost identical under recent Linux, except keyboard also wakes). Trackpad and mouse do not wake computer. No fan speeds reported, as BIOS controlled. A complex DSDT hack can fix this, but it is beyond me. The fan is quite audible, so you can almost guess the correct speed UNTESTED 1/8-Inch Mic port (I don't own a microphone). I expect this will work as it is listed in System Report/Audio. FULLY WORKING (& ACROSS SLEEP/WAKE) - TESTED 2 cores (4 threads) with AICPUPM natively, and all RAM. Screen res/backlighting and Intel HD Graphics 3000 384MB+ all sweet. EDID RGB fix required for correct colour. 2 x USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 all working perfectly. SD-Card Reader. HDMI video and audio, mirroring and extra monitor fine. Audio auto-switch back to analog when unplugged. VGA Out working, but you would need to REALLY want it. It needs to be manually detected, and after unplugging, the computer is unaware it is not there until restart. I would recommend strongly against using VGA for a dual-monitor setup. DVD-RW, read and burn, DVD playback all tested and working. Gigabit ethernet. Bluetooth 3.0 ALC269-based audio - 96k 24bit out and internal mic. Keyboard/Trackpad - Tap, drag, 2 finger multitouch working. Lid Sleep Battery reporting/charging - fully automatic. Screen dim etc. 1/8-Inch stereo headphone port (auto-sensing) NOTES Sleep/Restart/Shutdown was causing serious issues until I replaced System.kext with one from an AMD 10.9.3 kernel package. This sounds bizarre, but it appears to be working :-| For some inexplicable reason, the CPU was only going as low as 1.6GHz, not 800MHz. After replacing System.kext and rebuilding system and kernel caches, SpeedStep appears to be functioning correctly again...
  2. I got it working with CloverALC patched for Mojave support (easy script edit), and using LayoutID=2 many thanks

    Mojave 10.14.1 on Lenovo 330s

I have the similar (but very different) 330s 15IBK, which has Kaby Lake Refresh i3-8130 + not ELAN trackpad :-( I cannot get battery status/lid sleep/trackpad working... I can get barely usable trackpad with VoodooI2C + I2CHID kexts I have also gotten partially working battery status, but after the 16bit patching to 8bit, DSDT would no longer compile :-( If you know of any info/guide regarding this model, could you please let me know!
  4. Thanks for the guide, it got my H370 HD3 running, I just did a clean install of Mojave 10.14.2, and LayoutID 7 does not seem to work?

Mojave MBR HFS Firmware Check Patch

I created the installer USB using Manual Method, and did an in-place upgrade (not a fresh install). Sadly, the SSD was converted to APFS during the install. I have reverted back to High Sierra JHFS+ from Time Machine backup. I assume that I can do a fresh Mojave install to JHFS and then restore apps and documents from High Sierra Time Machine backup...?!?!
  6. Hi MaLd0n,

Just got an ASUS Z170-ar with 6700K + GTX 980.

Runs perfectly with everything but Sleep/Wake. Waking computer makes it lockup (fan runs hard and no video).

I saw a really nice patched DSDT you did for a ASUS Z170-M with the following...

    Quote

    -FIX ERRORS AND WARNINGS
    -HPET
    -SATA
    -SLPB
    -DMAC
    -DARWIN
    -LPC
    -XHCI
    -PLUGIN TYPE
    -HDAS to HDEF
    -HDEF
    -RTC
    -IRQs
    -SBUS
    -BUS1
    -MCHC
    -ALS0
    -SHUTDOWN
    -LAN
    -USBX
    -PMCR
    -EC
    -IMEI
    -PNLF
    -HDMI

If I supply you with a cleanly extracted DSDT, do you think you could patch it for me? or at least give me the exact patch names (I have Rehabman's MaciASL and tools, including select patches).

    Many thanks.

  7. EDIT: See reply below for a more elegant, and simple solution, requires one character KEXT EDIT, to get all built-in motherboard SATA ports working perfectly (should work with Mavericks USB install as well, just substitute method for USB instead of Boot HDD) ******************************** I had to cut a lot of corners here, and I may have to switch to an IDE DVD-RW drive, as the Mac boot (2xHDD installed) I have is running from a 2-port ASM1061 SATA3 PCI-e card. I used my existing Hackintosh Time Machine backup, and made sure the SMBIOS.plist was identical on the MyHack Mavericks installer USB. I could then restore from my Time Machine backup to this machine (both HDD plugged into ASM1061). I have a GeForce 8500GT 512MB, and the only way I can use it was to use GraphicsEnabler=Yes. I also use npci=0x2000 and PCIRootUID=1 in my Boot.plist. I am using Voodoo 0.21 for audio. I am using Kext Utility to manually update the Kext Cache -- machine boots to desktop in ~10 seconds with UseKernelCache=Yes. I am using BCM5722D.kext for ethernet. Does not work after sleep, but can be manually reloaded. I am looking into a RELIABLE script to do this automatically with SleepWatcher. I have a SiliconImage 3114 PCI SATA card, and two VIA VT6421 PCI SATA/IDE cards, but with PCIIDE.kext or AppleVIAATA.kext, there is still no DVD-RW visible. This is a HP BIOS DVD-RW, but I have no other SATA models to test with, I do have one working IDE model, which I might test in the motherboard's IDE port. List of things working: 2 x Quad-Core Xeon 2.33GHz -- 2 power states, 2.0GHz and 2.33GHz. C2 State a possibility - mentioned in BIOS. 4GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM - Strange, it shows 9 slots (only 4 in machine) and slot 9 is a 1MB ROM??? GeForce 8500GT 512MB PCIE - Perfect, QE/CI OpenGL and CUDA all perfect. Sleep/Wake working perfectly (darkwake-0) -- USB2.0 and graphics working across sleep. BCM7555 working with BCM7522D kext. Does not work across sleep. USB2.0 - all ports, even working across sleep. Audio - ALC262 working via VoodooHDA 0.21 Rolled back AppleACPIPlatform, and it seems to have gotten rid of the beachball of death Used M*ltiB*ast for all installs/rollbacks, and KextUtility for kext installs/kextcache creation. Working Firewire400 card, just noticed firewire port on front of workstation, there may be Firewire built-in as well?!? App Store/iCloud both working fine. All software (except DVD Player, which complains of no Optical Drive) working sweetly, and quickly. List of things not working: Ethernet not working after sleep -- can be unloaded and reloaded manually. DVD-RW -- I need another working SATA port, and a non-HP drive to get this working. I just remembered I have a working Firewire400 optical drive enclosure (IDE) so I will certainly give that a try.!!! I would like more power states, but I am unsure if these processors go below 2GHz ??? I do not understand C2/C3/C4 states at all, so will not try that out for the time being. Posting this from this very machine. LOVELY! Need a new heatsink/fan for my exposed/jerry-rigged fan on the 8500GT.

ACER Aspire 4752 10.9.5 Guide with kextpack

This is the wrong place to ask for help with that new hardware. This post was 2nd-gen Core i, not 7th-gen. I have V5-573 Haswell, and it took me two weeks of solid work to get macOS working to my satisfaction. You may need USBInjectAll.kext (latest) which also has 200-series-XHCI-injector.kext You will almost certainly need FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext too Head over to the Discord, and see if /u/corpnewt can fix you up with a minimal working EFI folder/kexts etc. He got my (troublesome) B250M Kaby Lake i5 running sweetly. Discord invite link is on reddit /r/hackintosh in the sidebar. Best of luck!!

[SUCCESS] ASUS Prime B250M-C Kaby Lake

Do you think this solution may work for ASUS Prime B250M-D ??? I just picked one up (along with an i5-7600, GTX 1060 3GB, 16GB 2400MHz RAM, m.2 SSD (SATA or PCIe), case + PSU, DVD-Burner) Let me know what you think?!
  14. Hi All, Just to let you know that I did an in-place upgrade of a pure UEFI install of Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 to Sierra 10.12.3 with very little effort... Directly from the Installer App :-) Because I am using a Broadcom BCM943224HMS WiFi card in a PCIE x1 adaptor, I needed to patch the whitelist in "IO80211Family.kext/Contents/plugin/BCRM94360.kext/Contents/MacOS/BCRM94360" for iMac14,2 (it used to be 12,2 but was updated to avoid blackscreen). I also reverted to Apple NVIDIA driver, but have since switched back to Web Driver :-) Same Ethernet kext (RTL8111.kext) worked fine, and AppleALC.kext still worked fine. If custom SSDT.aml for speedstep is causing Kernel Panic, you need to create another one with PikerAlpha's ssdtPRGen.sh script. I cannot believe how easy this all was...

    GA-B75M-D3H Yosemite 10.10.5 ->Sierra 10.12.3

Yup, system is great... ever since upgrading to latest Clover, have not had a single issue (I still have underscan/overscan issues with boot logo size at startup, which I fixed previously with CSMvideoDXE.efi, but it doesn't work anymore :-( Also, screen blackout with NVIDIA is a couple of seconds longer than with Apple driver.

ACER Aspire 4752 10.9.5 Guide with kextpack

I got that MacBookPro in August 2016 :-) It is a 2012 15" Retina model with 16GB RAM and 960GB OCW SSD :-) So --- maxed out !!! My main Hackintosh (Sandy Bridge i7-2600/GTX 670/16GB DDR3) is running Sierra 10.12.3 too... and is as flawless as it could be...
  19. I don't know why you didn't just dual-boot and get a RIDICULOUSLY FAST real hackintosh, and not have to disable graphics in Ubuntu ?!

SUCCESS - 10.10.5 on HP ProBook 6550b - Guide to follow

Sorry for late reply Griff, I no longer have the laptop, I have Mid-2012 15" Retina MBP now (maxed out). RehabMan's GitHub site has wonderful laptop DSDT patches etc. I got an HP-Branded BCM943224HMS from eBay... make sure it is HP BRANDED!!! ... using it RIGHT NOW in my desktop Hackintosh via PCIe adaptor :-)
  21. WOW, I never thought I would see this day. Luckily I began testing well before the WIFI card arrived (BCM943224HMS) So I knew I had partial success up to that point (Sound and Video working). I used a very convoluted method using a myHack Mavericks 10.9.5 USB stick, and an Enoch bootloader 10.10.5 USB stick. I probably could have just used the 10.10.5 stick, but I kept forgetting boot flags, so reverted to 10.9.5 which needed less. IMPORTANT: I cannot boot with AppleHPET.kext installed, this was the main reason for needing to boot with 10.9.5 to move that file, and also remove graphics kexts for IntelHD. I then replaced with default replacements for 1st Gen Intel HD Graphics (Google it!) and my boot flags look like the following: ForceHPET=Yes npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes rootless=0 dart=0 WIFI card that was installed was on HP whitelist, and using MacBookAir5,2 SMBIOS (MacBookPro doesn't work) I got working WIFI OOTB !!! Installed MausiEthernet for Ethernet (untested, but shows up in connections) Patched IDT AppleHDA for 10.10.4 (by TheKing from memory) - working sound and microphone. Keyboard/Trackpad working with VoodooPS2 (latest) Unfortunately, all my attempts at getting a decent DSDT file extracted have failed... This has only been working for a few hours, and no software is installed yet - give me some time and I will create a proper guide with links etc. GenerateCStates/Pstates working Fan working Full QE/CI video working App Store working Webcam working (at 1/2 resolution) Internal Speakers working Webcam Microphone working (a bit quiet). Everything else will be tested tonight!
  22. Well, within 24 hours of vowing never to attempt a Yosemite install again, here is my working Gigabyte GA-EP45-DSEL running 10.10.3 Yosemite. I was gifted the motherboard, and added 2x2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, put it in my old P5KPL-CM case (with sata HDD and DVD-RW) with a 1GB GeForce 9500 GT. Only a measly 350W power supply, but all I need at the moment. I found a perfect dsdt.aml file on this wonderful site, and apart from teething problems with OpenGL (even though the correct NVIDIA drivers were loading, only a small amount of screensavers were available, and grid mode in the Dock was ridiculously slow. I used Pacifist to overwrite/update all apparent drivers, and also all frameworks which might be used. Used Disk Utility to repair disk permissions (there were always some important ones without execute permissions). I removed ApplePolicyControl, AppleTymce.kext, AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext, and updated kextcache. All is wonderful now, even with only 4GB RAM (there are 4 RAM slots for 8GB, or even 16GB apparently - I have never seen a 4GB DDR2 stick, but I guess they made them for some servers). Shutdown/Restart/Sleep/Wake work magnificently, as does the pitiful two-stage speedstep on my Core-2-Duo 8300 (2.83GHz). Using MacPro3,1 SMBios.plist from Chameleon Wizard. Also using USBBusFix, darkwake=0, GraphicsEnabler=No as startup flags. Like the previous Asus experiment, I was getting blackscreen on launch, and the only way to fix this was to remove GeForce* and NVDA* kexts temporarily. I injected the graphics card with hex string into device-properties in org.chameleon.Boot.plist, but after installing fileNVRAM kext and module, I could remove this and start with GraphicsEnabler=No and no injection, and it still has the custom name I set in the hex string?! weird, but handy. I currently have the machine sleeping for 24 hours, to see how it works when I resume. Waking is instantaneous, which is amazing. I have not used pmset to fix all the settings, so it is probably using safe-sleep at the moment. Many thanks to the original authors of the DSDT file here. I am also considering downloading the Cartri MOD BIOS for this motherboard... which apparently makes it even more mac-like and compatible. More news as it emerges.

    [SUCCESS] 10.10.3 on GA-EP45-DSEL

UPDATE: I have replaced with GA-EP45-DS3L, with same 8GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, and 512MB GeForce 9800 GT. Also updated to macOS Sierra 10.12.3 I needed to decompile old (10.6) minimal DSDT.aml and recompile under Sierra (using RehabMan's MaciASL). Otherwise it would kernel panic on boot. Restart/shutdown takes a little longer than before... but besides that, seems to be working 100% with full ethernet/audio/video/power states and wake/sleep ;-)
