diegooo Posted August 22, 2006 Share Posted August 22, 2006 ( I sarted this new thread cause the pther is full of download problem and not strictly related to this new release ) INASANE INSTALLATION. amd 64 3500+ (venice) sapphire rd480sb450 lg4167b ata maxtor 80 Gb 9 min instead of previous 120 with 10.4.6 my terratec FireWire 24 finally works. ( need to test asio with logic ) ATA performance slight incresed. still problem with sapphire x1600xt but not jas fault. ( i had move all ATIRadeon1000* to start desktop ) when i select about this mac I receive reset desktop instead. someone know anything about it ? kknospam Posted August 22, 2006 Share Posted August 22, 2006 The distro is JaS 10.4.7 you should find it easily if you look on the forums. And if your CPU supports SSE2 and SSE3 look whichever is more compatible with other hardware or more easy to install, I don't really know though as I only use SSE2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

rblissitt Posted August 23, 2006 Share Posted August 23, 2006 "SSE3" will never show up in System Profiler on an AMD-based PC, but it is actually there and working - you just can't see it. diegooo Posted August 23, 2006 Author Share Posted August 23, 2006 It doesnt appear in startup with -verbose mode. Only SS2. With 10.4.6 SS3 was in startup and system profiler too. I think that it 's not working, considering that i can't install any application after a fresh new installation of 10.4.7 When I start something like .pkg the installer hangup with every application. Software update doesn't work. This is the same after 5 clean reinstall of the system. ( finally I can try more things cause install is very fast ). Qapf Posted August 24, 2006 Share Posted August 24, 2006 I am seeing the same installer hangup, i also had to get mount_smbfs off the install cd because the version that got installed wouldn't work with the kernel due to a version mismatch.
