CoopDaVille
After Updating my pc from 10.6 to 10.6.5 my input from keyboard & mouse doesn't accept at login screen so i can't login into mac os...plz help.............. It sounds like you didnt run pfix before you restarted the computer. pfix would have takin care of that. My first and second installs I didnt run pfix and I had no mouse and keyboard. On the third install I found out how to run pfix and I was home sweet home. To run fix: Open your Utility's and then open terminal then type in the following. pfix THEN YOUR ROOT PASSWORD select your INSTALL HDD ( I have 1 HDD so I type in 1 ) then press enter This will take about 5-7 mins. Hang out when finished restart your computer. If you dont have pfix in your boot loader then you can GOOGLE it and download it. I use pfix everytime I add and or move kext files. Let me know if you need anymore help.
Kari_Juhani
Kext Utiliy works too, you need to use one of these alwys when you change or install new kext.
Firerose
I've tried this but my system has issues with the com.apple.appletymcedriver.kext I have to remove it when I first load up OSx86. Apparently with the 10.6.5 combo update it tries to reinstall that at which point when registering the components I get a KP. Any ideas or am I just boned? Gringo Vermelho
Use a different model identifier, you're probably using MacPro4,1, which will cause that kernel extension to load. Try MacPro3,1 instead. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1594908
Firerose
So I go into smbios.plist and edit that string correct? Is that all I'll need to do?
Gringo Vermelho
That depends on whatever else is in your smbios.plist and what degree of compatibility you're going for. Personally I would not change the model identifier alone without changing the rest to match that model as well. Use the information and links I posted and judge for yourself.
