terramir
Hi folks, Okies I'm right now working with voodoo and the sound is horrible!!!!!!!!!!. it's distorted half the time please help. Now someone made this kext but it's not working for my board (AT3N7A-I) it was made for the zotac ionitx-a-e and I also managed to dump the audio from ubuntu, however I'm really confused how to do this, so many rules so little understanding anyways attached it the zotac's audio kext which doesn't work for some reason and my audio dump anyone here know how to fix this? also while I know that surround doesn't work with analogue outputs is there anyway to output the same signal several times at once? like front and rear? Anyways kext and dump attached ALC662.kext.zip audiodump.txt
dino7777
Hi, I just have added my settings in an other alc662 post some minutes before. so you sure will easily find it. Just add the HDEF section I posted in your DSDT. If you dont have any HDEF in your DSDT by now, remember HDEF replaces ALZ... in two places in the dsdt. Second replace your AppleHDA.kext with version 1.7.9a4, Copyright Apple Inc. 2005-2009 Thats the version included in 10.6.1. Google is your friend. You should have 5 sound outs and one sound in. polvorito
if you have a ALC662 I think you should try AppleHDA.kext from tmongkol : he made a version for the AL662 ALC889A, Gigabyte (Intel), AppleHDA works nVidia built-in HDMI audio and some ATI brands. that kext must replace the one you have in S/L/E read his first post you can remove the ALC662.kext if you have glittering noise it might be a problem in your dsdt : remove the irqs from devices PIC and TMR my dsdt is on this topic http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1560705
dino7777
I have an update to my former post regarding ALC 662 audio too. For all, who dont have / or dont need HDMI audio: 1.)Take tmongkol's ALC 662 6 channel audio kext and place it in E/E 2.)Binary patch the current AppleHDA Reboot, working perfect. Sorry writing this from mobile device, so you have to look for the kext and patch yourself. Shouldnt be too difficult. 1st is kext alc 662 tmongkol 6 channel; 2nd is a applehad binary patch alc 662 (a terminal command written in perl, that replaces alc885 value in this kext to alc662) @polvorito thanks to you and tmongkol ; will try to anable hdmi audio ASP and report. cheers
