TH3L4UGH1NGM4N
I never even took notice to the prize bumps because I never really look into the Mac flagship that much but wow has the price increased with not such a significant performance increase aside from more recently CPU technology Apple shouldn't bump the price up so much if the majority of what they are doing is just slapping in a new CPU and calling it a new Pro This is why I love my hackintosh alessandro ya can't go wrong ya know

yoda75
You better get used to it. If everybody starts using iPad and Android equivalent tablets, regular computer components will not be a cheap commodity any more. It will drive up prices for all notebooks, desktops both commercial and DIY. This means if you deal with media creation and software development, it will cost you an arm and a leg to get a machine to work with. I hope I'm wrong, but there are already some warning signs. http://www.macrumors.com/2010/09/17/analys...k-retail-sales/

Thats why I love my HackMac: Comparable with an Mac Pro Early 2008, but only 500€ for the hardware (over 1 year ago) - but this is only because I (you and all others geeks) KNOW how to make standard PC to a good base for OSX and have no fear about this . Most of the others (the pro-believers) have to obey and pay the price Apple dictate. Knowledge is the key.
