To look at my setup (Dell D830), please see the guide in my sig. i have the MSI U100 netbook EFI booting Snow Leopard. It requires nullCPUPowerManagement, yet it not only sleeps, but also hibernates perfectly every time. I am using a sleep enabler kext, but there are so many floating around, that it is possible that I am using the wrong one. Maybe you could post yours ? MikeHunt79
I've pretty much given up trying to get sleep working on my acer aspire one which needs NullCPUPowerManagement Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188614-is-it-possible-for-a-system-with-nullcpupowermanagement-to-ever-sleep/#findComment-1284850 Share on other sites
Dalton63841
Now in Snow leopard I use SleepEnabler also, but back in Leopard it was not needed. it is all dependent of your hardware. For instance it is well known that the Acer Aspire One's just will not sleep, but the MSI Wind is a 100% perfect hackintosh. The thing is, these machines have very similar hardware, so I guess the main differences are in the BIOS? msingh
The thing is, these machines have very similar hardware, so I guess the main differences are in the BIOS? A wrinkle on the story. I re-installed after I mysteriously lost QE/CI. Now, with GraphicsEnabler=Yes set in Boot.plist, I can sleep, but not deep sleep, shutdown or reboot. I am using openhaltrestart.kext. Actually while the major hardware is similar, the smaller things are very different from one to the next, such as LAN, webcam, audio...
