wanamino
Intel has officially introduced Core i7 quad-core processors geared specifically for notebooks Um...maybe an upgrade for the minis and imacs....or the desired "mac mini-pro", because 8 threads is a great engine for our machines, jeeje. And here a review from Anandtech : http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=3647 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188551-intel-unveils-nehalem-for-mobile-new-macs-ahead/ Share on other sites
Konami®
It will take a while for Apple to introduce these processors into their products. The MacPro has not been even updated yet. Dr. Hurt
I'm going to buy a new Mac Book when its updated. I expect the next update to the Mac Book to be in Q1 '10 and to use the (arrandale) core i7 (dual core 4 threads) along with the new (surprisingly powerful) Intel Graphics. I also expect the iMac and the Mac Pro to be the first to receive the Core i7, and probably the 4 core version (clarksfield). This is just my opinion though. Can't wait to see what Apple does with these new Core i7s. netkas
>If you only focus on battery life in minutes, Clarksfield looks like a poor solution. http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showd...?i=3647&p=8 not going to be in next macbooks lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188551-intel-unveils-nehalem-for-mobile-new-macs-ahead/#findComment-1279392 Share on other sites
vbetts
Aww...Sad is me...These chips are suppose to be faster than what the core 2 extreme mobile cpus were too. =[ Maybe in the Imac then. princeofdarkness135
The current Mac Pro's use Nalehem based Xeons that have 4 cores and 8 threads and run triple channel DDR3 and is the same core as the i7.
