halo1982
I have an error and i use -x -v -F -s but i can´t boot solutions??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All I can tell you is it works fine on my NX9010 :-/ 2.8P4, 512MB, 80GB HD, DVDRW... But when you do get it running it'll be slow as hell because of the lack of ATA drivers. I've decided I'm selling my NX and just getting an iBook...I've grown too fond of OSX and I don't want to run the risk of not being able to upgrade if I get something like an Inspiron with a GMA900. judy
Move out the relevant kexts (IOPCCardFamily, maybe ApplePCCard*) out of /System/Library/Extension. If it doesn't boot into single user mode, start from a Darwin CD, mount you harddisk, and work from there. Rod
Hello, I'm having the same problem on my HP/Compaq Presario 2544ea (specs on the wiki). The problem may come from the ATI RS200M chipset ... Do you have that one ? I read there were pbs with ATI chipsets... I tried scousi patch without success... Please help us... :-( PS : It works perfectly (but slowly...) under VMWare Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1861-error-iopccardbridge-star-failed/#findComment-54288 Share on other sites
kolouker
Yes, that's my chipset. I'd try to install this via VMWare, but I don't have an external disk. I'd really appreciate any help with this Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1861-error-iopccardbridge-star-failed/#findComment-54332 Share on other sites

Darsil
Same problem here, the 10.4.1 install DVD worked fine, but only with the platform=X86PC boot flag. Starting with 10.4.3 I can only boot in VMware because when I boot native the PC just hangs with the HDD light on. HoochieMamma
I asked this question in my thread, then I noticed you are all having the same problem as me. Is there a way of just disabling the need to start the PCMCIA slot via a boot tag or even deleting a certain kext? As I don't care if it doesn't work I just want OS X to run on my hardware and not in a VMWare session. Alex3305
I also had this problem. The problem was that we forgot to install the patches like SSE2 and Intel Combo Update. It should work if you install those, you can check them when you click Advanced Install just after you choosed your harddisk. Good luck ! ellioT
I have the ATi RS200M chipset, and I installed the 10.4.7 JaS WITH the SSE2 and Intel Combo Updates but i still get the PCCardBridge error, I think it might have something to do with the O2 micro cardbus and not necessarily the ati chipset for the host bridge Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1861-error-iopccardbridge-star-failed/#findComment-216680 Share on other sites
