try this EFI string, if it doesn't work, try NVEnabler0.1.kext then after that try NVInject.kext with your dev and vendor ID placed inside

<key>device-properties</key>

do the nvenabler and nvinject kexts go into my snow hd at extra/extensions?

String above had no effect.

I know i'm a rookie, but are we sure we are talking about a pci problem as the error message

I placed each kext in my system/library/extensions folder 1 at a time

and each time I booted, I got the following error.

i'm going to make you a chameleon boot cd. is you mobo the one in your signature.

yes, its a P5Q3 Deluxe wifi@

After I installed SL from my USB drive, I then started my Leo and tried to install

chameleon to the hard drive that sl was installed to. The Chameleon install just hung

and never completed. So I then formatted my hard drive under Leo, installed Chameleon,

and then reinstalled SL from my USb Drive.

Don't know if it makes any difference. Just thought I'd mention it.

Hello. Thanks for a very nice guide.

I have a Dell 9400 laptop with a GeForce Go 7800 card with 256mb. Have tried with efi string, NVKush, NVinject (one at a time) on the hidden efi partition and system boots fine. Always same problem:

When booted mouse pointer hangs often, but if I put laptop to sleep and wake it up again no stutter. Have full resolution, but no QE.

Would be very grateful for a fix. Have tried with and without disabler kext.

Also VoodooHDA kext gives me strange sounds as sound output.

put this in System/Library/Extensions

or in extra/extensions. but add the boot on root to the info.plist

Trying EFI method.

Got to point where it says to run Cham 2.0 r640,

set to EFI HFS and installer hangs with "writing Package Receipt"

This was the same error I got before.

Can I reformat the hard drive, run the Chameleon installer, then restore

the DVD to the hard disk install partition where Cham is?

I reformatted Hard Drive, Ran Chameleon to Snow Installer partition, and then

copied dvd to snow installer partition.

Thanks for trying to help. But what you mean by adding boot on root to the info.plist?

open the info.plist

see where it says safe boot

replace safe boot with root

you are installing chameleon to the hidden EFI partition, so neither.

it will boot up chameleon, then select the installation dvd.

my iso should work for you if you want to try it

no only did what you've said in your guide

Mount Snow Leopard Distribution

Open up Disk Utility.
Click the partition or DVD to be the Installer
Click restore
Drag Mac OS X Install DVD to source
Drag Empty Partition or DVD to Destination
Check Erase Destination

up i also tried the original DVD which the same restart machine message.

it wouldn't make a difference that my current working install is iPC 10.5.6? and it is deffinatly a GUID partition table too

shouldn't...

only if you took kexts from it

try re-burning the bootloader. might be the issue.

otherwise go back to the efi partition method.
