just the needed kexts and GMA950.zip

You can try without the GMA950 kexts if you have an external Monitor.

Thanks. Deleted the mkext, and added those two kexts to the extensions folder and im still getting that same error as before, not sure why?

Hmm seems like its also looking for some kext files not present:

Thank you very much noob766! You deserve a beer.

I got it all, managed to install it on pata drive (it is much easier on sata), graphic card works wit full hardware acceleration (used only EFI strings)

erm except sound (forgot to put kext for that)

And I have to see if my wireless netgear wg111v3 works with Snow Kitten.

It was all in correct bios settings.

-this motherboard is incredible complicated to setup :)

-SATA must be set as IDE with COMBINED (if I didnt accidentally clicked that, I would have never figure it out)

I will post a screenshot of those bios settings in case someone pops in with the same motherboard.

One thing I also tried is Chameleon cdboot (boot132) for 10.6 and I can say it does not work at least not for my configuration. Constant rebooting...

I installed Sl using the Chameleon V2 RC1 USB Bootloader method and the

install completed successfully.

When I boot to my new SL volume I get the error shown in image.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

You graphics card isn't working properly

set your bios to sata mode.

Okay took your advice noob766 and got my graphics working via OSx86 Tools. Its very stable now, although I don't wanna try 64bit mode lol, I have a bad feeling. All I need to sort now is this BIOS problem of reseting the SATA mode to IDE (I have no usbs plugged in) and the audio (AC97).

Mega thanks to you noob766 for the help and the guide, couldn't have done this without you! ;)

Not sure which reply apples to me noob except that my bios is set to AHCI if that

is what you mean.

If it's my graphics card, is there a fix for it?

read the guide.

Hope you can help me please

this is for a shuttle k45

GMA950 and ich7, E6600

in Leopard the minimum kext required to boot is ATAPortInjector, Disabler, dsmos, IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector

so I tried to match that list of kext for Snow Leopard

for SL I have fakesmc, NullCPUPowerManagement, openhaltrestart ,AppleIntelPIIATA, IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext

but I get the following KP during boot

I know the dsdt works in Leo, it has a GMA950 fix for video, I just added the rtc fix

this computer ran Leopard without trouble, using the retail dvd

it also didn't need ahci mode, I can easily install Leo on ide or sata, now running a single sata drive...

thanks

Change the mode of your drives in your bios.

if that doesn't work add the appleintelpixxata with dev id's

add AHCIPortInjector.kext

well actually that bios doesn't have an option for sata ahci...

I tried both appleintelpixxata, same KP

with or without IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector same KP

I tried AHCIPortInjectorwith and appleintelpixxata with dev id's: same KP

ah i think i know the problem. try this kext

AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext.zip

its the same as the one before except it has boot on root. which might be why you were having issues,

Link to comment

no that didn't do it

I had this new kext

along with fakesmc, Nullcpupowermanagement and openhaltrestart , that's it

exact same KP

hmmmm. in you dsdt.aml you might have something in there to do with your hard drives that it doesn't like. try loading without it

Link to comment

without the dsdt I have the same KP again

there is no reason for you to be getting this error, which is strange

all i can guess is that go through your bios again and see if you can change the set up.

or take your IOATAFamily.kext from leopard and use that.
