loudog3114
I have a saphire 9600 at home that I am about to make the trip home for to install this in my "mac". Anyway, I have gotten the 9600 on my laptop to work, but it is an ati card - 1002 vendor ID. Will I have any issues with the saphire or should it work just as well as an ati built 9600 would? quagmire
i would imagine as long as you enter the correct vendor id's and such it should work just as well. My 9700 pro works wonderfully (given that its unsupported ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18037-powered-by-ati-any-issues/#findComment-117444 Share on other sites
Korrupted
Be sure to try out Callisto at omni.starchaser.org. Good luck! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18037-powered-by-ati-any-issues/#findComment-117448 Share on other sites
quagmire
Be sure to try out Callisto at omni.starchaser.org. Good luck! tread carefully with Callisto, make sure you read the troubleshooting BEFORE you attempt an install and be sure to have your backup plan to rescue things if they go the wrong way, whenever I attempted to select 1280x1024 using my DVI output and Callisto I lost all signal to my monitor. I had to reboot via my vga output and force 1280x1024 at boot so i could get signal again. good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18037-powered-by-ati-any-issues/#findComment-117454 Share on other sites
Korrupted
Good point. Yeah, follow the instructions to the letter, and don't make any mistakes. And backup anything important. Antman
it's not so hard cut and paste his commands into your console and do as they say. very simple. if anything goes wrong there is always single user maode.. "-s" works great here.. build 006 is perfect and I am using VGA connector.. loudog3114
I have installed callisto and gotten qe/ci working with it on my laptop with a 9600 pro mobility so ive got the callisto install pretty much down pat by now, but I just wanted to make sure a non-ati card with an ati gpu would work as well. belgrano
... but I just wanted to make sure a non-ati card with an ati gpu would work as well. Probably so, my video card is made by GeCube (although the vendor ID is still 1002). Before that I used a Gigabyte ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (and the vendor ID was also 1002).
