mallyone
Just curious how it should take to apply the patch. I'm running the compiled version of ppfapply from the paradogs source on a 1.2Ghz Debian box and it's taking 4 EVER! It just keeps saying "reading" then "writing" and that's it. I'm wondering if it's caught in some bad loop or something? It's actaully a good thing since I decided to float over here while it was patching and noticed a new patch is out now Anyways, please let me know how long the patching should take thanks... xSuRgEx
get the new patch, and follow the readme file Read it word for word and make sure the MD5 checksums match EXCATLY! or you will have problems. the patching process shouldnt take long less than 5 mins on my 2.2ghz celeron (sse2) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1789-time-to-run-the-ppf-patch/#findComment-11548 Share on other sites

The linux ppfapply I compiled is probably just not optimized very well either in the code or on my end (new linux install from Knoppix dvd). I'm still curious if anyone else is waiting quite a while for the patching process. m... BTW, sse 1,2, or 3 doesn't have any bearing in the patching process Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1789-time-to-run-the-ppf-patch/#findComment-11581 Share on other sites

other
it took 27secs on my 3.6ghz @ 4.1 + 1GB DDR2 RAM. Whatever the processor - it shouldn't take too long. It's a fresh install of linux so maybe my drives dma is setup poorly... Anyways, thanks for the input Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1789-time-to-run-the-ppf-patch/#findComment-11748 Share on other sites
