Antman
Junio Vitorino calm down... the reason it doesn't install is because it was meant for 10.4.1.. you just need to replace the kext the installer is using with this one: http://scifi.pages.at/ffm-2/CMI8738PCIAudi...6.4-1043.tar.gz then run the install.sh file with that new kext file in there and away you go.. Antman
ok.. bad news I am afraid.. that driver works perfect with the card that is not 5.1... if your card has the extra output for more than 2 speakers to be hooked up no one has eve developed a driver for that card. you will want to find the card that has just the 2 channel outputs. In my sound it says my sound card is: CMI8738-v37. this card is perfect. this page shows what one looks like.. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006UZJ6...glance&n=541966 That is the card I have to a tee.. if I remember the discussion when I got mine I was told the other one doesnt work. I am sure if someone were to work on that driver they could get it to work. Sorry guys.. Antman
then you need to post the kext you were using on 10.4.1 and it will need to be recompiled for 10.4.3-6, were you able to load the one i posted? Cause with my 2channel I have no probs I believe I steered away from the 5.1 because of this prob but if your 10.4.1 kext you were using worked than it can just be recompiled.. Luminaire
Humm. don't get it installed. BigBonus seemed like he had it right for me, but every time I check (and reboot) the system gives me "No Audio Devices". So I checked the system profiler; told me there where no PCI cards except for my Network card... Weird. It's a Sweex 4.1 Audio card with, of course, the CMI 8738 chipset. I'll try it out in windows first, see if it works there at all >.> // Edit Nope, windows gives me a "No Resources error". I should try inputting the vendor and device id's... Yeah, I'm trying that first. Still odd Sys. Profiler doesn't pick anything up. //Edit No.2 YES. Seemed a hardware error >.>. This works mighty fine right now!
