John the Geek
Will this work on the Macbook as well? I'm thinking about getting one. This is already enabled on the new MacBooks and 17" MacBook Pro. Only the 15" MacBook Pro is missing it, and this remedies it until Apple releases a software update with it. =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17685-double-clicking-on-a-mbp/page/2/#findComment-117974 Share on other sites
-TiLT-
No success. Everything unchanged. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17685-double-clicking-on-a-mbp/page/2/#findComment-117977 Share on other sites
John the Geek
No success. Everything unchanged. Do you have a 15" MacBook Pro running 10.4.6? Have you enabled the checkbox in your mouse preferences? EDIT: I successfully disabled and re-enabled it on mine just to test the installer. But you do have to go turn it on for it to work after install. Swad
So John, just to confirm, you've enabled the "Two Finger Right Click Thing" on a 15" MacBook (that didn't originally come with the functionality)? If so, you've just made a lot of Mac users happy. Just to check. I feel a digg coming on... -TiLT-
15" MBP: check 10.4.6: check Checkbox enabled?: there was no new checkbox (like the one shown on the screenies) Testing again now. (I can try a command-line manual edit of everything if you can provide the steps) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17685-double-clicking-on-a-mbp/page/2/#findComment-117984 Share on other sites

John the Geek
yes, this is exactly what I am looking for, but it looks different here. Oh cr@p, d1g1ta7 gave me an English-only Preference Pane! Anyone have the multi-lingual version? EDIT: You should be able to set your language to English, check the box, and then resume all German settings. The Property List will remember the setting. We'll drum up a multi-lingual installer and re-post it. John the Geek
Yes, setting remains. Now we do not need a touchpad-button anymore *g* Ok, try running this new installer. It should replace the old one with a multilingual preference pane that has that option. For those of you just joining us, this package installer will replace your 15" MacBook Pro Trackpad driver with the current one that is shipping with MacBooks and 17" MacBook Pro models. Once you run the installer and restart, you must go to your trackpad Preference Pane (within Keyboard and Mouse) and enable the right-click option to use it. (It is unchecked by default) Also included is an installer to restore the default 10.4.6 files in the event Apple requires them for future updates. =) Secondary_Trackpad_Click.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17685-double-clicking-on-a-mbp/page/2/#findComment-118012 Share on other sites

I'm betting that those who end up at the top of this page will install your framework and get p*ssed at us when it doesn't work. The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDMouse.kext“ was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.
