Just tried that and then tried installing the voodooHDA driver again, still it makes my videos play mega fast, and still no sound ;)

Edit- in the voodooHDA prefpane, it has several options in the dropdown menu, but none of them make it work.

IF that makes any difference then :D

I really dont know, i dont use Voodoo HDA because i clashes with my Firewire soundcard. The only question is; does it play mega fast aswell without the Voodoo HDA?

Maybe you should post your problem on the HDA thread. Ill bet there is a solution. :)

No, it is definately caused by voodooHDA, it doesn't do it until i install it, and it stops doing it after i uninstall it :) lol

Any chance you could link to the thread you mentioned? :D

Sorry cant find it but try OS86Tools http://code.google.com/p/osx86tools/ and see if the soundriver is compatible.

Getting back when I find it. Good luck

I don't really get what you mean when you say use osx86tools to check if its compatible, but nevermind :(

I have got a retail leopard disk now, i was wondering if anyone could point me to a good guide on how to get it working all the ones i seem to find qaren't much help :/

cheers

Ok here goes -

**update - vanilla kernel works fine, so you can leave the kernels unchecked**

Download Iatkos V7 and burn to dvd

Boot into your bios and turn all disk options to ahci and turn of all powersaving features on the cpu

Boot into Iatkos V7 and press f8 to enter startup option

Type without speechmarks "-v cpus=1 busratio=20" and hit enter

Open disk utility and partition your disk using GUID (I havent tried MBR maybe its works)

Click continue and customize

Uncheck everything

Now Check the following

iAtkos v7 Main System

Chameleon V2

Extra Directory

DSDT

DSMOS

9.7.0 Kernel Voodo

APIC Driver

Disabler

OHR

Remove TyMCE

AHCI

Intel Sata/IDE

JMicron Sata/IDE

Voodo HDA Driver

Realtek R1000

Post Install Actions

Click contine and install

It will stick for a little while at the beginning of the install whilst it verefies tha packages but just be patient.

After about Twenty minutes install will finsish and it will let you reboot.

Once rebooted you will be presented with the chameleon loader and you can select Leopard and boot straight into 10.5.7 and follow the setup wizard. All four cores will be working with hyperthreading. This install method gives me a very fast and stable install.

All you have to do now is find your graphics drivers.

Thank you so very much for this. Got me up and running. Really helpful. I am using an X48 DS4 Gigabyte motherboard and everything is working very well. Do you have any advice on what I should do to get my invidia gt8800 driver?

Regards

okay, i've tried everything i can think of, every set of driver i can find, vaious kernels, all of the choose-able driers from the customize menu for audio, i have tried enabling and disabling the audio option in my bios, i have tried patching appleHDA, i have tried voodooHDA and NOTHING works, at all :/

I am ready to give up on it D: usually from my past experience the sound is easy to fix, but no one has had the same problem as me, despite having the same hardware, i don't get it.

HALP GUISE ;)

Of course it's not only you, it's almost everybody with ATI video card, i guess it has something to do with Ati driver. The sound was working fine with iAtkos 10.5.5, now i have to wait for snow leopard and hopefully will be working again.

------------------UPDATE---------------

I so a successfull install

but.....

when I do a software update, which includes a lot of things including 10.5.8 update, the system restarts just fine after install but the system stops on the apple splash screen and then restarts again

the next time the aple screen appears i get the small erro box telling me to shutdown system

seems an update is not working right? could it be 10.5.8 update, and if so any solution please?

thank you

Had some understanding and installing problems... As this was the 1st time.... But now.... Works like a CHARM!! Thanks man

It was working fine until I disconnected the drive and changed the bios to load my Windows 7 on my 2nd HDD..... Sometimes I get KERNEL PANIC...... Sometimes everything loads but the whole of it acts weirdly.....

The weirdness goes like this...

1) Consider I try to install something.... A window for USERNAME AND PASSWORD Pops-up but the cursor is in the password tab and it is continuously types something ( I DONT EVEN TOUCH MY KEYBOARD AND NONE OF THE KEYS ARE PRESSED )

2) When I move the cursor to the top TASKBAR to open something.... After clicking one.... The pull down menu automatically moves from left to right

3) WHen I open any window which has some folder or files, the very first file of any row always gets selected....

My config is

Gigabyte UD5

I7 920

ST31000528AS ATA Device ( 1st HDD )

ST3160211AS ATA Device ( 2nd HDD )

Basic microsoft USB mouse

Basic PS2 keyboard

Vx1000 webcam

6Gb OCZ GOLD

Nvidia quadro FX 580

Dell 2409Wfp

Samsung DVD writer

Is there any easy installation method to DUAL BOOT both the HDDs ( 1TB as Windows 7 and 160GB as MAC OSX )????/

why why why

i get a successfull install

but once i do a system update from the net it restarts but then reboots on apple loading screen

then next time back in logo screen it crashes

sometimes with the grey error box sometimes without depending on whether i selected voodoo kernal or vanilla

please can someone help me on this

Time machine doesnt work for me, no idea why something about cant find network adapter, if anybody has succes let me know how you got it to work.

I got my gtx 280 working by installing the evga package and then then installing netkas latest enabler.

I got Time Machine working finally. I used a hybrid install: Using my 10.5.1 Retail disk, I followed the instructions for retail installation (I pulled out the unwanted kexts before running it, like graphics) and used the 10.5.7 combo update. Then I booted up with iAtkos v7 and unchecked everything except the drivers and patches I needed. Then I updated to 10.5.8 from Apple.

Some may ask why I didn't just use a pure retail installation. It's just more predictable using the drivers and patches in v7.

Let me know if you need me to go into more detail.

2x400GB GIGABYTE IDE RAID - NTFS

I installed using iAtkos v7 as described but i cant seem to boot the machine. This is my second installation as i already have the $250 Mac (atom chip etc) running but its slow for doing anything reasonable.

I tried installing chameleon v2 manually to the 500GB drive and putting first in the boot order...but it comes up with boot1 : error. I tried with EasyBCD. My feeling is that the necessary information is not in the boot sector of that drive.

Can anyone help?

Hi and thx for the guide

I have done the install exactly as the guide says with the only additions

Apple PS2

Natit

Nvidia GT200

Greek Language

All work gine but only if i start the pc with the busratio=20 cpus=1 switches.

Is there any solution in this?

Thx in advance

I'm pretty much stuck like everyone else.

I'm using a

GA-EX58-UD3R

Intel i7 975

Wireless N Card

Sapphire HD 4890

iAtkos v7 OSX 10.5.7

Everything's fine (wireless card, video card, etc. etc.) except for the audio.

I tried it with/without the VoodooHDA drivers and even tried all of the post that said I needed to install the AppleHDA.kext drivers but to no avail.

Anyone have any progress on this?

i shrunk d drive and created a new volume of 15GB (drive g).

i inserted iatkos v7 dvd, booted and proceeded through installer.

Then i erased the g drive volume with mac format mac journeled in the disk utility,

then i customized the installation for installing various drivers as:

when i forced restarted it again booted from the cd, the installer started again(very annoying).

when i booted without the DVD my both the OS got corrupted (perhaps boot file was corrupted/modified ).

it displayed boot error

i used my vista installer disk to fix the boot files (and now it displays vista (recovered). windows 7 (recovered) at the OS boot choice).

do i need to copy boot file for leopard to make it working.

but i m not able to install osx86 on ma laptop.

i have referred many posts , but could not find and step guide to install osx86 with iatkos_v7

i want to use leopard along with windows 7 and vista.(multi boot)

i have some questions:

1) what is difference between iatkos.ipc DVD,ideneb and myhack (found them from google.)

2)will i have to format the entire HD to make Multi boot possible on my system?

3)do i need any other cd/dvd for iatkos v7 to intall.(heard abt chameleon bootloader, is Chameleon included in the iatkos? OR, do I have to make a seperate DVD for chamelon?)

4)which of the above method (iatkos, ipc DVD,ideneb and myhack)

is the best one to install leopard on dell 1545?

visit the booting and virtual section in the osx86 thread.

it will help you.

Pls excuse any thing if it sounds retarded, i'm just moving from the PV group to the Mac group.

I've done 4 installs, 3 using the MBR and 1 using the GUID. On the reboot it didn't take me to Chamelon2. should I have left the CD in?

I've tried manually setting the partitions to active. I've tried using chameleon 2.

I keep getting Boot1: error. I'm running dualboot and i changed the registries in Windows Vista and used the chain0 file. Worked like a charm to setup the dualboot. I've even tried this particular install exactly, minus the changes to my hardware. Yes i'm using the iAtkos v7.0 file. I'll list my comp specs after this. ANY help here would be much appreciated, i'm up to 2 days here so far but i REALLY want to learn this stuff. Please help.

It's a gateway model FX7026 but here's the specs:

Intel Core2 Quad CPU @ 2.5Ghz 64bit

4g Ram

Nvidia 8800GTS

i have 2 hard drives, both SATA and i designated 1 hard drive to this install.

Intel 82801 chipset.

Sound is onboard.

I'm not worried about sound just yet i'm more worried about trying to get this OS up and running. I'm tired of PC problems, i want something more stable. thanks ahead of time.

Boot into your bios and turn all disk options to ahci and turn of all powersaving features on the cpu

Boot into Iatkos V7 and press f8 to enter startup option

I need help with this part. I'm really new to all of this and some of it is a bit over my head. I'm running a windows 7 beta and my computer specs are..

hp pavillion dv6000z

CPU: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-56 (1.8GHz/512x2 L2)

Memory: 2GB PC5300 DDR2 2 DIMMs 0 Open

Hard Drive: 120GB 5400RPM Seagate ST9120821AS

Motherboard: Quanta 30B8

Here's my setup. At first the Iatkos I7 had issues but now it works.

May be, this will help you.i was facing the same problem.i assume u want a dual boot system.

YOu will require:

1. windows installation dvd.(to repair boot record)

2)live cd/usb like ubuntu 9.10 or 9.04.(any live cd/usb which have gparted in it).

procedure.

1)boot with windows Cd to fix boot file damages(if any ) made by previous iatkos installations.(this step can be skipped)

2)prepare a partition min 8GB from your primary partition.(best way of douing is by using gparted.)

3)format it with hfs+(can be done only by using gparted).

4)shift boot flag to this newly made partition.(using gparted in ubuntu). (this step is to be done only if you are not successful without this step, so first try without this step).

5)install iatkos on this newly made partition with ur custom settings.

6)run ubuntu live and change boot flag as it was earlier.

7)boot with windows dvd and reapair using startup repair.

8)shift boot flag to your partition on which osx86/iatkos is installed(using gparted).

and reboot.

hope this will help you.
