- Doogie
Hello, I just finished installing 10.4.1 on my HP laptop, everything works great and all the apps that came with the core O/S work great, however I tried to download and install firefox, as well as a few other intel mac apps and when I click on them to start the app they do nothing. I am in the process of retrieving the 10.4.6 right now and I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem in the past and then upgrading fixed it? Or if anyone currently does have this problem? After 10.4.6 is installed I will report back but that wont be until tomorrow. In the mean time is there anything that I can do? rhodar
Presuming your using deadmoos image... read the wiki. In the section "speed boost" and you will find your answer. (it has to do with patches that were installed in deadmoos image). A few things need to be replaced in order for things to work properly. Follow all the steps on the pages in the speed boost section and you should be alright. 10.4.4 and up are alot better, as the ones before are a littlebit ...lets say... incomplete.. Hope that helped Rhodar Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17181-application-launch-problem/#findComment-111034 Share on other sites
- Doogie
Cool, yeah thanks for the info. I looked at the patches and everything and I decided I might as well just wait for the ISO for 10.4.6 to finish and then work from there. I am amazed at how fast this flies, Its just downright incredible. I can't wait to get apps all loaded on it and off and running. rhodar
if you have a look at that wiki page, you should be able to get itunes working and other programs quite quickly, but for sure, the 10.4.6 should be heaps better... im only with 10.4.4 (but i am happy with it for the time being) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17181-application-launch-problem/#findComment-111134 Share on other sites
Hagar
Erm 10.4.1 doesnt support running apps compiled under 10.4.2 & later. 10.4.6 will solve this, obviously Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17181-application-launch-problem/#findComment-111136 Share on other sites

- Doogie
Bad news The 12 hour wait for the 4gb file proved to be much of a waist, the iso file for 10.6 would burn and report back errors and refuse to read in my cd drive. Does anyone have a way of getting a known good file to me? Like a HTTP server or something? Please let me know and thanks, Doogie Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17181-application-launch-problem/#findComment-111178 Share on other sites
