Hi,

I'm new here and just happy that I managed to get my system up and running.

My problem now is, that some applications crahs like they would if I would have an SSE3 Emulation and only an SSE2 CPU.

My CPU is a Venice and therefore it should run fast enoug.

I ran maxxuss_sse3 -t and got the following output:

Diagnostic Tool for MAXXUSS SSE3 Emulator v5.0 (10.4.4/8g1165)

SSE3 FISTTP instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 LDDQU instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 MOVDDUP instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 MOVSHDUP instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 MOVSLDUP instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 ADDSUBPS instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 ADDSUBPD instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 HADDPS instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 HSUBPS instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 HADDPD instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
SSE3 HSUBPD instruction emulation - should succeed: .... Success
Reading from Commpage (R/W page) - should succeed: .... Success
Reading from Commpage (R page) - should succeed: .... Success
Writing to Commpage (R/W page) - should succeed: Bus error

Now, that kinda looks as if the SSE3 Emu would be running, or doesn't it?

I'm not quiet sure...

The -i Option of maxxuss_sse3 gives me the following output:

Diagnostic Tool for MAXXUSS SSE3 Emulator v5.0 (10.4.4/8g1165)

Illegal instruction

Can anybody help? How can I make sure that I have used the AMD_Enabler right and have full speed from the CPU.

Some crashing could come from the lack of CI/QE...

Thanx,

Dagor

When I got my SSE3 working the speed difference was AMAZING. SSE3 cut the boot time in half

Care to extrapolate on that a bit mr Howser? Your statement implies that it wasn't working...How did you know it wasn't working? What did you do to fix it? Telling us it's fast is just thread fodder mate.

If your CPU has SSE3, don't worry - it's being used. Even if system profiler says otherwise! If you are really paranoid about it, you can patch your own kernel (i did) and it will then report SSE3 in system profiler. Please note: I did this and there wasn't any improvement. The only difference was OSx86 now said SSE3 in system profiler.

Well I was running 10.4.1, I ran the SSE3 Kernel patch fro deadmoo and it cut the boot time in half. I just installed 10.4.6 and It does show in the system profiler. I dont know of any specific way to test it, however I agree. If it shows in the profiler you can bet that its most likely working.
