Colonel
I think Dvorak has a good point for once. I hope that what he says is true. He says that Microsoft is a dying company, and I can understand it. Vista keeps getting pushed back, MSN is a failure, and they keep wanting to start a fight with Google. Here's the link. Vista is nothing more than a DRMd version of XP. When it comes out, the Windows machines I sell will be replaced by OpenSuse 10. Ill charge what I pay +$150 for Vista, then void the warrenty if they want it. Ive got 1/3rd the town on firefox already. I don't see a problem with moving them to Suse slowly. fOZf8
I don't think they'll be going anywhere soon...they have their teeth sunk into the majority of the corporate workstation world, as well as all of the major PC manufacturing companies (excluding one now, of course). I don't think Vista is just a hashed out DRMd XP either...even with the beta builds that have been out there, it's nothing like what it is being worked on to end up like. I'm not defending it, or them, just stating the way things seem to me from what I know and have read. Any word if that is going to be in the final build? Ive just read about it. Ive seen services in there that are a 'must' to turn off, related to DRM junk. Ive got a cracked beta 1, I want to see what they do before they do it, so ill know how to defeat the DRM when it comes out. Nothing comes out of my store with DRM on it.
