Nessus
Howdy, I've got Garageband up and running but I'd like to use a (piano-style) Keyboard. I have a USB-midi adapter made by M-Audio, and while I've downloaded and installed the OS X driver (supposedly compatible), it isn't recognized. Anyone have one that works in osx86? slylock
Any progress on this? I also wish to use an M-Audio midi keyboard (Oxygen 8) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1647-working-midi-keyboard/#findComment-39163 Share on other sites
slylock
Someone added the M-Audio X-Session midi controller to the hardware compatibility list. I wonder why that works but not an ordinary keyboard. macgirl
Howdy, I've got Garageband up and running but I'd like to use a (piano-style) Keyboard. Those drivers are still for PPC Macs, until they release a X86 driver they wont work. slylock
I wonder if there is a way to use the serial port and a midi-to-serial adaptor. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1647-working-midi-keyboard/#findComment-40769 Share on other sites
xPoWx Th3Myth
I have a M-Audio 61es, and it seems to work just fine with GarageBand from iLife 06'. I simply plugged in the usb and checked the Audio Midi under Utilities, click Midi and my board was there, didn't have to install any drivers. slylock
That's cool. Which motherboard? My Oxygen 8 doesn't work even in my G4 until I install the driver, so I'm resigned to waiting for drivers from M-Audio. lambsporriegetta
I'm using an evolution usb midi keyboard straight in with cubase SX on osx86. works fine. slylock
M-Audio has posted a beta driver for their firewire keyboards, so hopefully the driver for the USB keyboards is not far behind. By the way, lambsporriegetta, I started a thread in the Applications forum about Propellerhead Reason, when I save to audio file, it sounds tinny, different from how it sounds when I use a G4. Does Cubase do anything funny when you downmix to file? You could post in the other thread, if you want, to keep this one on topic. http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=7172 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1647-working-midi-keyboard/#findComment-48187 Share on other sites
u157206
Hey I know this link might be dead, but just wondering if anyone has gotten any other midi interfaces to work besides the x-session? Thanks for your time. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1647-working-midi-keyboard/#findComment-59129 Share on other sites
regularg0nz0
My M-Audio Keystation 49e works fine under 10.4.3, but conflicts with my Hercules 5.1 USB Sound. (luckily, my AC97 sound started working) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1647-working-midi-keyboard/#findComment-59426 Share on other sites
slylock
I've used the little e-keys keyboard from M-Audio with 10.4.3, works fine. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1647-working-midi-keyboard/#findComment-60045 Share on other sites
JorgeJones
Kinda a pointless workaround to get midi input on your Intel Mac, but interesting nonetheless - http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?sto...terface+drivers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1647-working-midi-keyboard/#findComment-60159 Share on other sites
