fakeplastic
Hello everyone, I'm new and fresh from installing OSx86 10.4.6 (JaS DVD) on my computer... no USB and no integrated audio but it WORKS! Now, there are those minor glitches i can't understand: why my CeleronD (2.66 Ghz) is considered a 1.5 Ghz Celeron and no SS3 mention in the Cpu Features of System Profiler? Does anyone encountered a similar problem? Colonel
It probably has something to do with your MoBo. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15949-why-my-26-ghz-celeron-d-is-displayed-as-15-ghz-in-system-profiler/#findComment-102404 Share on other sites
TopazBar
I don't think it has anything to do with MOBO. If windows can display your CPU speed correctly then Mac OS X will also display it correctly for u. I had similar experience. I found an answer for me. What follows may or may not work for u: In my case, I installed 10.4.4/5 Myzar and after installation, I've found my cpu speed wrong. After some experience, I learned that I've installed Maxxus' decrypted files, AMD enabler, and Mac OS X 10.4.5 update. I re-installed, using custom installation menu, just 10.4.4 with Maxxus' decrypted files, the cpu speed was correct. I'm suggesting that u re-install using custom installation menu and select only the ones u need. I hope this helps. kernalzero
i've got a pentium 4 630HT bios registers clock speed @ 3.0Ghz...OSx thinks it's @ 3.8Ghz and has 2 cpus, obviously the error looks to be in my favor compared to yours... as far as custom kernels, i've seen a few people having trouble upgrading with custom kernels. 10.4.5 to 10.4.6 most recently. Their entire build would just die after the upgrade if you didn't remove the customized parts. Most of the update releases provided are generalized builds made so the majority of people can use them so having a custom kernel screws it all up. I say if you aren't losing any speed/efficiency and it just says something different, who cares...it's a hacked OS and isn't supposed to be perfect, I hope you are't losing any performance and if you are I hope you get it cleared up the way TopazBar mentioned...goodluck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15949-why-my-26-ghz-celeron-d-is-displayed-as-15-ghz-in-system-profiler/#findComment-102447 Share on other sites
Sabr
This is a known "bug" in OSx86 when running it on a PC. My system profiler reports 3.0 Ghz, when I'm actually running it at 2.5 Ghz (an AMD Athlon 64 3500+). Don't worry about it, your system isn't being downgraded It's fine, no need to worry.
