firebush05
I can read DVD/CD's no problem, but trying to open the tray in OSX is a different matter. The EJECT button on the player doesn't work either. Anyone else have a similar issue and/or workaround? Its a sony DVD-RW drive. macgirl
In Mac OS X is normal that the button doesn't work, you need to eject from the Finder's menus or with control-click over the Icon of the media and select Eject. defor
Also keyboard eject buttons work (ex: Dell Laptop Fn+F10) And the tried and true pre-pro-keyboard Apple method (hold F12 until eject logo shows on screen) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1510-dvds-read-but-no-eject-edit-solutions-inside/#findComment-9667 Share on other sites

cyrana
Not exactly helpful, but the eject buttons work just fine for me on my 915g chipset computer. And my B&W G3 (ANCIENT mac ) works fine via the eject button on its DVD. macgirl
For me they only work if there isn't any media already inside. Even with my Apple IIsi with it's External 4x (superfast! SCSI) CDROM with Mac OS 7.6 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1510-dvds-read-but-no-eject-edit-solutions-inside/#findComment-9748 Share on other sites

macgirl
Yeah, for some WinGuys the only way is the button, but is not their fault, it's Windows' fault.
