@topshooter: people don't want to read. Don't annoy them with telling them that they don't read :)

@Supermegatron:

As far as i know the Bios on Boards with EFI is a part of the EFI. I read something about CSM-Module or something like that. The EFI starts up the Computer and then loads a module that contains the BIOS because Windows can't Boot with EFI-Code.

That means, that your computer won't be able to work without the correct EFI(-Code/Module whatsover). Flashing the Mac EFI to your motherboard will most like end with a (irreversibly) defective motherboard...

On a real mac, the EFI is the only stuff needed for MacOS. They don't need a BIOS. The EFI-Update that arrived the same day as the BootCamp-Software adds a BIOS-compitability-Module to the EFI, so that the intelMacs have EFI and Bios afterwards, so that Windows can boot.

I hope my post was somewhat understandable. English is not my mother tongue.

I wouldn't say enabled. It just hasn't been in the Mac before the firmware upgrade. You could say they added a Bios with that upgrade.

On a PC the Bios translates between Windows and the Hardware at bootup-time. Hardware <=> BIOS <=> WINDOWS

On a Mac the EFI translates between MacOs and the Hardware.

Hardware <=> EFI <=> MacOS

For Windows on a Mac it's like: Hardware <=> EFI <=> BIOS <=> Windows
