I've have the Gigabyte EP45C-DS3R motherboard for a couple of months and have been trying to install osx86 from a couple different distributors (Kalyway, iATKOS, Leo 4 All) and have had no luck. Most of the time, I'm able to run the installer, but after installation and reboot, I'd get a kernel panic or related error. A couple of the distributions freeze during installation. I was wonder if any else was able to get osx86 running on this board.

I running a Q6600 Core 2 Quad processor and 6GB of ddr2 ram if it matters.

Hi David, I' m interested on this ...i'm planing to by your same motherboard, i have read some post on the wiki about ep35 but now in the shop near my house there is just ep45....gigabyte are maybe the best motherboards for a osx86 pc, now i have amd 5200 and asus m2nx-plus, install leo4all 9.4 kernel, i think i must choose vanilla kernel, please tell us if you will have good news

Too much ram. Back it down below 4gb and it'll boot up just fine. At 4gb the kernel is forced to switch to 64bit and half the drivers go nuts.

BTW, with that motherboard, you should be using Boot132 and a retail disk, not some antiquated Kalyway type distro.

hi! thanks for that info, i wasnt aware of that :( sorry for butting in but i also have a similar setup, although i'm on a P35-DS3R. i've been trying to get a flawless install and initially tried IPC 10.5.6 (with patches). but after sucessfully booting after installation, some of the apps crashed -- dvd player app and safari. i am on 4gb ram, is the 64bit kernel the possible culprit?

Nah the damn Jmicron controller in the culprit either disable it or try using the fixed .kext's for it.
