Yeah I thought about that as well. might give it a try. Chevy
  2. Kernel panic after updating 10.6.2

Thanks for the reply. Sleepenabler wasn't the issue. It was my Nvidia 7300GT video card that is the issue. I had to take some Geforce kexts from 10.6.1 and replace the 10.6.2 ones. System booted up fine and no kernel panics. Now I have issue with no audio. Does anyone have a legaceyHDA kext that will work for my EP35 DS3P? I tried to patch my DSDT file for audio, but I'm guessing I didn't do it right, cuz it doesn't work. I need the kext to go into the E/E folder not S/L/E. I want to have a vanilla install as I can. Thanks, Chevy
  3. Hi all, I'm having kernel panic issues after updating from 10.6.1 to 10.6.2 and can't figure out what's up. So I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've been around the hackintosh community for quite some time, but the last 6-8 months I haven't been in the loop. I installed SL when it first came out and had no issues really to speak of. Once 10.6.1 came out I updated via software update and all was good, no issues. Now 10.6.2 has been out for about 3-4 months and I finally decided after it kept bugging me to update I did. Upon the reboot I now get a kernel panic. I've been out of the loop of a while, so did some searching and some have had issues with the sleepenabler.kext. I removed it from my EXTRA folder and rebooted and still get a panic. Now it's not right a way, but as soon as you go to do something it panics. I added the nullCPUpowermanagement.kext and something, panic. Now on the panic screen I did notice the that it had 3 or 4 graphics related dependencey issues. Could that be the problem and if so how do I fix it? I tried editing a new DSDT file and then adding a new boot.plist and it didn't seem to help. Although I took someone else boot.plist and edit for myself by adding my graphics resolution. For the last few yrs I've been using GFX strings to get video and wasn't sure if there's something new or not. I deleted the strings and used the edited boot.plist and upon reboot to the desktop my resolution was 1024x768, but it wasn't panicking. Is there another way to get graphics without strings? My hardware specs is in my sig. Thanks so much, Chevy
  4. English dude! Just wondering why you opted for an ide dvd drive instead of an SATA drive? With all the $$ you're spending why not get a SATA drive.
  5. Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard

Why don't you just buy it?? It's like $30.
  6. Best pc for the hackintosh conversion.

I've been running OSX on my comp, see my profile, and it's rock solid. I built it this past June and I'm looking to sell it. It's been a very good system. I've run photoshop and pro tools at one point and both perform well. PM me if interested. I can send pics. Chevy
  7. GA-P35-DS3 ALC889a / ALC885?

I've got it working on my EP35 DS3P. I just added an ALC889a.kext file to E\E folder and rebooted and audio is working. Chevy
  8. Can you PM me the link to the pack please. Thanks, Chevy
  9. So nobody is using this mobo or the other variations of this mobo with SL? I can use the EP45 132 boot disc form blackosx and I can install SL, but upon reboot I get kernel panic. I really need the proper kexts. Chevy
  10. I've been trying to install SnowLeo for a while now and keep getting kernel panics. I've been using Blackosx's guide to a T and for the most part it good, but keep getting kernel panics on reboot. It must be from not having the right kexts for my system. Can anyone please provide me with the kexts I need to get this running? It would be great. Thanks, Chevy
  11. [TOTALLY VANILLA] Retail Snow Leopard

Thank you very much. I'm not the only one getting grey screen and then a spinning beachball.
  12. [TOTALLY VANILLA] Retail Snow Leopard

Hey all, I having some issues installing Snow Leo. So I've built the SnowLeoInstaller on a 8gb USB drive and copied over my kexts files and efi strings for graphics to com.apple.plist. I don't have any errors upon compiling my usb installer. So everything looks good to go. After rebooting and choosing SnowLeoInstaller, the usb drive starts booting. It gets to a point where the SnowLeo install screen starts to come up, so it goes from blue to grey and then sits on the grey screen with the mouse pointer in the top left side on the screen. It doesn't go any further than that. Does anyone know what's up with that? Have I missed a step? Thanks, Chevy
