I'd be happy to upgrade if it resolves the mouse artifact issues. Other than that, I can hold off installing until I get more confirmation. Too many things on my plate as is it. Will install on virtual session, but I don't think that does anyone any good.

Hi guys.

I have downloaded the JaS.Updated.Intel.Auto-Patcher for 10.4.6.

It is a folder containing various files that are meant to update a 10.4.4 restore DVD to a new 10.4.6 install DVD.

Among the various files contained in the folder, there is one called 10.4.6.decrypted.pkg.

Since many of you (like me) would probably like to directly update their system from 10.4.5 to 10.4.6, maybe the solution would be installing the MacOSXUpd10.4.6Intel (the original update file from Apple) first, and then, before rebooting, installing the 10.4.6.decrypted.pkg. I think that this would overwrite the encrypted files and solve every problem in one simple step!

What do you guys think about it?

Has anybody tried to apply this theory of mine? What do you guys think about it?

in fact, the installer will stop at 50% when optimizing the system , so i have stop that before the system hangs , and apply the patch. ... god knows how important with that progress ... i encountered the same problem when update prebinding ..

hum so im not in a hurry to burn the new image as im using SSE2 i remember having the same ACPI problem with the first 10.4.4 autopatch! was fixed with the MYZAR proper and tested version...

so multommy the 10.4.6 original update doesnt install ?? stops at 50% weird! the 10.4.5 update was working!

OFFTopic:zhense estoy intentando entrar en los foros de osxspain pero no lo logro, hay algun problema con la página?

Myzar ive tried to install 10.4.6 from my 10.4.5 using the mpkg dont try that folks crash my whole oSX...

so ive reinstalled 10.4.5 using ur MYZAR 10.4.5 DVD

1) ive a SSE2 intel and it didnt work without AMD ENABLER!!! it made me laugh (error acpi). Do u have any clue Myzar? lol

2) that rocks man before i had to type my password (not anymore) at each startup and i do REhave CE/QI effect under the widget when u make them turn (info etc like under 1111) u know what i mean? so just great now :poster_oops: don't know why but f***ing up the whole thing was good lol

I applied the 10.4.6 update to my drive from a second bootable drive then ran the Jas decrypted.pkg, deleted the kext cache and repaired permissions. After reboot 10.4.6 came up just fine. I lost Yukon ethernet, quartz extreme, core image support and the ability to change resolutions. I copied the appleintegratedframebuffer and the Yukon kext from 10.4.4 and got the ethernet and resolutions back but no quartz or core. I tried the remaining apple915 kexts and no luck. On another note, processor preferences no longer lists hyperthreading but instead reports two cores with the option of disabling one.

Any ideas on fixing core or quartz?

I already made an install dvd with newppf and ppf2+3 normally this enable booting and working with sata drives (nForce4), I can install natively install 10.4.4, dont try 10.4.5 but when I run it I got missing and corrupted permissions on many files causing crashes.

I am not shure but this release from Jas won't work for AMD.
